sorry to show my ignorance but what does NL stand for???
odd

never odd to ask a question you don't know the answer to.
very odd for an Alty fan not to know what the NL in NL Paper stands for

We are a NL team after all  ;D

MotherHen had correctly herself barely 5 mins later, therefore closing the issue and everyone could get on with their day and boogie.

Hardly any need then to say odd as a reply.

As people are worried about me not clicking NL paper was non league,, when I read the post I thought it was a paper local to the area of Goole, ie Yorkshire post, Goole times, you get the picture, I was just on the wrong trail of thought that is all, nothing to get your worriying heads around. :)

Yorky, have you ever come across a person who feels that they know everything and that everything they say is correct?

Isn't that the pope?

People who think they know everything infuriate those of us who actually do!

No, because he's celibate, and for the first two years she wasn't  ;)

It is possible that NL stood for North Lincolnshire - and whilst not geographically precise it would have possibly been close enough to pass muster.

So maybe, given Gooles predominance as "one of the most important ports on the east coast"  MoM stands for Merchant of the Marine - high praise indeed for Adam!

It is possible for these"backwaters" to create a specific vocabulary of their own that is completely opaque to us outsiders

Try Barnsley. I recall spending a week there with a mix of fire officers, ambulance crews and police officers along with hordes of school children. Another language totally!

Just Sam. We recalled Adam - he was on the bench on Tuesday.
