i think it was about 5,000 but then we lied alot about attendances in those days.

another massive following of hoolies was the lovely people from Boston in that semi final.

I recall a few bishop aukland fans got there just deserts on the way to the train station and also a few barrow fans being dealt with to get your tools out gumbo :)

Hang on there must've been some Alty crew there, didn't this 2nd round cup tie in 82 have rather a large attendance i recall seeing once?

Yes, but not enough of the 'tear you limb from limb' brigade given the number of Terrier thugs and wannabes on the pitch.

Don't even mention Boston.....oh you did

Boston fans can't help it. It's genetic as a result of inbreeding.

Huddersfield for me, running at us, and they had won. God knows what would have happend if they had lost.
I've seen an axe incedent at Alty, many years ago.
Not sure of the game, but an Alty fan had his new sheepskin coat Knifed, (think it was a north eastern team, but not sure), so his mate went home for the axe.
Names can be provided but not on this forum.

Boston are inbred, myopic, ignorant pig feckers.

What about the Huddersfield fans who invaded the pitch in 82/83 and ran towards the Golf Road end with one of them wielding an axe.

Who can name the Huddersfield fan who went to this game who went on to play for Alty?

Mick Carmody?

Paul France?

It was indeed Paul France

My recollection of the Huddersfield game is joining in singing ' come and have a go if you think you're hard enough' and when they did I think I was first out of the exit door!

Paul was a lovely lad too, his nickname was "handbags" and he was a great servant of the club and a classy player ;D.

his name was always one I wanted to see in the starting line-up.  Always felt more psitive with Paul in the team.  He offered and gave so many options on the pitch. scored quite a few too.

Not sure how we got on to the subject of Paul France when this is meant to be about worst away fans!

Maybe the 30 or so Luton fans who didnt bother going to the game on Saturday but instead stayed in pub next to the ground getting smashed. Police were called about 6pm and had to shut the bar because of the nuisance they caused.

They weren't that bad to be honest - it was just kids being rowdy.

It was hilarious though watching about 10 of them them when they noticed their coach leaving without them. It then got even funnier as every taxi they ordered refused to take them. How and when they got  home god only knows...!
