Might be good cover for Coburn and we're going to need a second keeper.

Was he the small one that was in net against us last time we played at the butchers?

would have hoped our youth keeper got a shot? - the one who was at grismby

only saw him in the warm up, but seemed a better shot stopper than previous back up keepers

He hates us with a passion due to the fact we rip the piss out of him!

He does sell cheap boots though.

I think we need experienced cover tbh especially with Stuarts injury record.

He is a little bit short but well experienced if there was any truth in it.

Superb shot stopper and pretty fearless from what I remember.

well he looked a hell of a lot better than a lot of our 2nd choice keepers, he'd play for a lot less no doubt

and  itd look great to adD promoted from CN on his CV at a young age  ;)

Stuart Coburn IS a giant compared to Pauj Phillips! He is similar size to Jerome John if you remember him.

In view of Ian Senior's comment, isn't this a bit of a waste of time ?

I would think so - however, the discussion does illustrate the problem of the second keeper. Either we get someone who is, to be honest, at the wrong end of his career and won't be too worried at not getting a regular game, or we go for untried youth. Financial considerations - don't let's forget that the squad isn't going to be much more than 16 strong - might have a part to play, too, as no doubt will Stuart's fitness record. Another difficult one for the management team.

Peter Stanier used to look good when he was warming up......

Only in the sense that he was tall, blond and tanned. AS a keeper shots used to fly past, and almost as many through, him in the warm ups. We'd have lost 10 nil if he'd ever played a 1st team game FOR ANYONE. I used to watch us train in those days as well and he never stopped any then either.

It's only the fact he never actually played for us that stops him being a shoo  in for our worst ever keeper.

Theres no doubt we need a stand in keeper for when stu is out of action, but we seriously need another centre back and a striker in time for the start of preseason (thursday) So lets hope we see some movement this week.

How many keepers have I heard that about since Acton left?
