I much prefer this version Saughall, perhaps it is time to revert to it!
I've been singing that version for over 55 years 🙄!
(some times on my own admittedly)
😂😂😂😂

PS. The nearest Witton came to being a rival was in the two legged CSC final in 1967 (I think) when we recovered from being a goal down at the Central Ground to win 3-2 on aggregate in front of over 7000 at Moss Lane.
Still remember 'strolling Ken' Barnes (ex City) as their player - manager and Peter (?) Mellor their blonde keeper who went to Fulham. Sure they had a centre back who made it big too. Think it was Chris Nicholl.
That was the bloke who played for Aston Villa and Northern Ireland

Were Witton ever a rival? Or did they just conveniently fit the number of syllables needed for the song?
The original song, as I remember it was, "We hate Wigan Athletic, we hate Macclesfield too. We hate Northwich Victoria but the Robins we love you!"

Don't forget Wigan! 😉

According to the fully up-to-date NLP, 'Lewis Moult' was sent off for us at Torquay and will miss the Wrexham game. 😏🤯

Down to 9th on points per game thanks to Boreham Wood's result today :o

Imo, Draw would have been the best outcome for us but the result is better than Maidenhead winning as they have an extra game in hand on us .
Plus we still have them away (and Borehamwood at home)

Altrincham FC First Team / Letter from PP
« on: February 06, 2021, 11:09:55 AM »
Myself and Mrs S have just received our letter to season ticket holders from Parky.
What a fantastic gesture to keep us all informed and included.
I'd just like to say how much we appreciate it and hope that you know that we, like all Alty fans, are fully behind you and the lads. You're a spot of cheer during this pandemic for all of us.
Thanks go to everyone at the Club for getting us back up here.
This is yet another reason why I've been an Alty fan for the last 56 years (almost!)

Today's the anniversary of his debut for us in the FA Trophy win vs Barrow in 2005.
(according to the JL site)

Always did a good job for us. Only drawback was a bit of a lack of pace.
He must still be early forties. Shocking news.

I'm booked in for next Wednesday for my first jab. Mrs S had hers yesterday.
Second ones in April.
Chances of our holiday in ithaca in June more promising! 😉
Could we even have something football related to celebrate? 🎉

An update on Jake Moult's sending-off at Torquay last night is on the official club website now.
One match ban for two yellows.
Will miss the Wrexham game unless we can reschedule the King's Lynn home game for next Saturday.

I've got a sneaky feeling that they'll be wishing it hadn't been played at full time ⌚ 😏🇵🇪
I've never been happier to have been right!!!!

Looking more and more like shutdowns for the NLN & NLS and up in the air for our league.
My guess is we'll carry on.

But it doesn't seem like we're going to come to a decision any time soon! 😉

Altrincham FC First Team / National League meeting today.
« on: February 01, 2021, 10:29:48 AM »
I believe there is a National League meeting with Clubs today to determine the options for continuing (or not) the season.
When are we likely to hear the outcome?
What do we think that outcome will be?

I'll open by suggesting that the NLN & NLS will opt for curtailment and the National will opt for playing on fearful of losing the promotion places.
Having said that, there will be several NL clubs who would struggle if that happened - Kings Lynn, Dover and Wealdstone have already said as much. A couple more, if they have doubts, could swing things the other way.
