Scored earlier than usual. Is he starting games now? Or have Boro got players out injured? How much was his sell-on clause worth again (if it had been triggered)? And could he really have played for the full England team without the injury setbacks?

Still, someone on here once suggested he had that potential. I certainly remember him looking pretty good in a match against Arsenal before his injury problems started, and when you look at some of the players who make the squad in some of these friendly matches, he can't have been that far off. At any rate, he must be the nearest to a full England player to previously have played for Alty for quite a long time (though to be fair, Shotton didn't let too many people down as part of a  very solid Stoke defence under Tony Pugilist).

Came on as a sub at the start of the second half. He hasn't played the full 90+ minutes in a league game so far this season.

He did a decent job at U21 level and I think he had a chance for full honours.

In my opinion I think he lacked the overall technical quality required to be a full international.

There's lots of players like him across the lower ends of the Prem / top end of the Championship that would find themselves in a similar boat.

If Eric Dire can get a game anyone can.

Set up a 26th minute goal today (for Marcus Forss) apparently. When did he come on this time then :)

If he does get another chance at the PL with Boro, I think he deserves it.

He started, and was substituted after 67 minutes.

First start of the season isn't it? Now if Pringle could emulate him...
