Altrincham FC First Team / Denham in for the injured Senior !!!
« on: January 23, 2009, 05:10:00 PM »
Senior is out for 2-3 weeks which is a shame. Denham straight in for me, only way to get him fit is minutes under his belt. Also Half fit Denham is better than most we have on stand by !!!!

Altrincham FC First Team / Elam, who's next..... Denham ??????
« on: January 17, 2009, 11:35:22 AM »
Players of his quality should be playing week in, week out. I am gutted, I think he's a lot more mature player than most and again quality slips through our fingers. Hooray I can see more of Peyton, love it !!!! NOT. Good luck Lee and like Logan I don't blame you for moving on, because watching a lot worst players play in front of you must be a killer. My mind is still baffled why you were dropped as you were constantly playing well !!! pisses me off. Denham will be next to leave ( watch this space ) !!! Gutted

Altrincham FC First Team / Lets attack Northwich, they are s*ite !!!
« on: December 22, 2008, 09:05:25 PM »
I really want to see us attack Northwich, it’s our best chance. I am not going to start blaming one or two players like I normally do, however since Peyton has been back in the team we have not won a single game. It’s not his fault but what I am trying to point out is we have more talented players than Peyton and Meechan sat on the bench. Attacking football is our best style of play, when we attempt to cut out teams by being defensive we always concede and find it hard trying to get back into games, or we push that hard trying to get back into games we concede more. We should always attack and try and get a goal or two up, then possibly defend.

Against Northwich I'd play……

GK) Coburn

RB) Lane / Smith
LB) Doughty
CB Young
CB) McGregor

RW) Senior
LW) Elam ( we need this lad back playing, things started to go downhill when he was dropped)
CM) Densmore ( we are short in centre mid, I think he's our best option)
CM) Danylyk

CF) Johnson
CF) Little

F*ck defending or sitting back, lets go at a very sh*te team and score some goals !!!

What I really don't understand is we were playing so well with Senior and Elam in the team and then Elam gets dropped for no reason whatsoever. If you look at the results since Elam has been put on the bench it's poor, I know he started at Crawley away. We are obviously very short in centre mid. I think we should maybe give Densmore a run there unless we get some loan players in. Yeah him and Anthony would be small but at Densmore has a football brain. Also dropping senior, for me he's still our main dangerman. Our main concern is injuries but I also think we have gone negative again, but to be honest it has not surprised me, things were too good for a while. We must attack Northwich, they are sh*te. We have been very very poor in the FA Cup and FA Trophy and I think if we had started with a more positive teams I believe we may still be in both cups. Having Senior and Elam on the bench against a lower league team is poor tactics. We are sh*t at sitting back and trying to soak up pressure, however we are good going forward. Main thing is two new centre mids in January or before if possible.

Altrincham FC First Team / Luton game
« on: November 20, 2008, 09:35:06 AM »
That was our best chance of a good cup run.

Again we took a backward step and played Peyton, he was so out of his depth it was untrue. As quick as my gran and just very average. I could not believe he picked that ball up for the pen, my heart sunk. Why Elam has been dropped is mind puzzling. Luton for me, are very poor and there are a lot of better teams in our division. We should have gone at them.

The substitution of Chris Senior was timed so wrong. Why take him off at all ? when defenders are tiring we need that lad on. In the end we had no strikers on. I just think tactically we got it all wrong. Just look at our record with Warren starting this season and look at it with him not starting. His commitment is not debatable but as I have said in the past if you put an alty shirt on me, I will run for 120 mintues with all my heart, but I ain't good enough neither is Warren. I respect Graham, but Warren ain't good enough and our cup run has gone. Its taken me two days to get over it, I was gutted.

Come on lads pick yourselves up and lets have a great season !!!!

Altrincham FC First Team / Luton game
« on: November 11, 2008, 09:30:05 AM »
Well done lads, great battling performance. They are a terrible team who we can beat at home, BUT we must attack.

Elam and Johnson were immense when they came on. Again Warren was poor, 3 yards off the pace, can not close down quick enough and distribution is woeful. Went too defensive against a poor poor team, would have started Elam instead of Peyton. I honestly believe Elam can even defend better because he can at least run quicker than a 5 year old. Defence played really well !!

Anyway lets go for it a week today. I would start the below team against them :-

GK Coburn ( only if 100% fit )

RWB Densmore
LWB Doughty
CB Lane
CB McGregor
CB Young

CM Lawton
CM Danylyk

LF Little
CF Johnson ( he had them in a panic, sheer quality when he came on )
RF Elam

Altrincham FC First Team / Onwards and upwards
« on: October 13, 2008, 11:26:17 AM »
Well done again lads. The defence was outstanding, youngy, lane and McGregor have been class, I am just concerned if one gets injured we're a bit thin on cover???

I hope we have Densmore on contract because I think teams will be looking at him already, a real talent.

Well done Mr Heathcote for sticking to an attacking team. This is how we should be playing... going goals up and then defedning, not goals down and chasing the game for the last 20 mins. Its clear that our best defence is to attack teams. What is pleasing to see is that we have stopped giving teams respect, on our day I believe we can beat anyone in this league.

Exciting times with Denham yet to come back. I wouldn't change the current line up but Denham is perfect to replace any of the front three for the last 20-25 mins. I thought Johnson did a really good job at holding the ball up when he came on.

Even if we lose a game lets keep the team together because they are gelling. I thought we chopped and changed the team in every game early on in the season to adpat to the other teams dangermen but thankfully we have stopped doing that, let teams change for us. Onwards and upwards, always knew we had it but wasn't quite sure that Graham was ever going to let the players attack or gel. Well done to everyone.

Altrincham FC First Team / Well done again. Now we are playing football.
« on: September 30, 2008, 12:41:51 PM »
I watched the game on TV last night with a few beers and the lads and I have to say we played really really well again. Well done Graham for sticking to an attacking formation. Always said our best way to defend is to go at teams, in the past we would set our stall out to defend against teams and that would always invite pressure onto our defence and we would always go at goal or two down and then try and chase the game which for me was barmy having part time players. Graham please stick with this approach, I believe we will stay up playing this way, if we are beaten then don't change it, get the lads back up and believe in them. I must say I thought the second sub was done at the wrong time and that Peyton got no where near the man to stop the cross which led to the corner in which they scored from but thats footy. Anyway I was so happy last night and thought we should have won, well done to the management and players, keep this up. Its what the fans want and its the way Alty should play. Now lets kick some bottoms. Come on ALTY !!!!!

Altrincham FC First Team / Now thats what I was talking about !!!!

It is amazing what you can do without the likes of Peyton, O’Neil and Meechan

That was tremendous tonight ....attacking, positive and confident play

The back three of McGregor, Young and Lane were solid and can grow in confidence

Doughty and Densmore were both disciplined and played really well, going forward at the right times.

Anthony Danylyk putting his foot on the ball and passing it which he is capable of doing, also got stuck in.

Always said Senior and Little were our best two forwards for movement and goals.

Lee Elam is just a class act and his fitness and energy was amazing - see what happens when you play a few games you get more fit, it ain’t rocket science.

One last piece of the jig saw that needs sorting. Graham get your phone go into your contacts and select Chris Denham’s number and dial it, sit down over a brew and sort it out. Lets get it sorted because it isn’t too late. Anyway I have just watched the Alty that fight with 100%, I am one happy mother so and so.

Well played lads and great team selection Graham, imagine that team against Lewes we may have seen a few goals

Altrincham FC First Team / Rapidly going backwards
« on: September 22, 2008, 11:24:30 AM »
Saturday was the worst standard of football I have ever seen in the conference.

I thought some of the abuse towards Graham was very harsh. I now believe it is time for a change but he has been one of the main reasons along with Geoff Goodwin why this club has not folded. Yeah his reaction was wrong but that is his love for the club.

The reasons why I believe we need a change is because we are going backwards. Some points from Saturday

1) Sorry to sound Harsh but Joe O'Neil is no where near this standard. He is weak, he panics and he just basically sh*te at finishing
2) Peyton again is still an average player who just whacks it up top without thinking
3) Our worst centre mid partnership since I can remember, we need a loan player ASAP.
4) McGregor should be captain
5) Young should be playing
6) If Graham has fallen out with Denham then he should swollen his pride because we need that kid playing every week

Some positives and only a couple, were a great performance by our right back and also great to see Elam play - direct and positive play instead of the negative shi*te we are use to.

Still changes need to be done but starters for me would have to be

GK Coburn
RB Densmore / Lane
LB Tierney/Young
CB McGregor
CB Young / Lane

LW Elam
RW Denham
CM - New player
CM - New player

CF Little
CF Senior / Johnson

Any other team apart from Lewes on Saturday we would have lost, we were that poor. Changes need to be done. Since the Barrow game we have gone back to our negative tatics and if this carries on theres only one outcome, relegation. We have the team to survive but we have better players sat on the bench or stood on the sidelines. For me we never ever get to see our best team play, not only that but to be given 5-6 games playing together. It is chop and change week in and week out. I love this club and have always stood by them but its breaking my heart watching this shi*e every week. Lets get the confidence, belief and attacking play back.

I have not been to a game since Wrexham so really I don't have any right to comment but from reading posts, match reports etc it does seem we have gone back to negative tactics again. The main thing is obviously confidence and belief. For me when Peyton went back into the team it signalled a backward step, yeah I believe he has played well but still does not make him good enough. It is not soley down to one player, it is down to a lot under performing. We do need Senior playing each week up front, I don't care about his height, he's the only player who looks like scoring in games. Our centre Mids are well off the pace and ain't good enough. Can we not loan someone ??? Young at left back, what a waste. We will get relegated if we do not change things, it is a really bad start considering who we have played. Anyone know the position of Jennings ??? a quality left back. We should have pushed for Ellender, even if he was cover. I don't know what to suggest but we need to get the players playing with confidence ??? not seen much of Battersby but heard he's playing well, that surprises me because he looked a really bad defender. Is he still worth keeping at right back? or put Lane there and Young back at centre back.

Why don't we just keep playing this team and let them gel

GK Coburn

RB Lane
LB Peyton or Doughty
CB McGregor
CB Young

LW Elam
RW Denham
CM Danylyk
CM Lawton

CF Senior
CF Little

Then hopefully get a fit val owen back, he might be old but I would choose a fit val over any of our current centre mids. We chop and change the team too much, we did it last year and looks like we're doing it this year. We change it to adapt to the oppositions best players but we need have a regular team each week. My thoughts is we are going down the route of last year, negative. Playing the likes of Meechan and Doughty on the wings to try and shut up shop but we aint getting many points. Yesterday we should have put an attacking team out against them. We should have been going for a win, nothing less. Starting with the above team and letting them play together for 5 or 6 will give them confidence. What I've seen this season is good players but we are all over the shop !!!! Again we give teams too much credit and go out to defend, that surely puts doubts in the players minds even before they kick a ball !!! we can't carry on like this or we will be down !!!

Altrincham FC First Team / Going backwards
« on: August 24, 2008, 11:42:01 AM »
I was working yesterday so I couldn't go to the match. I am concerned that we are going to slip back into old ways. Peyton starting..... what ????? he came on ran his socks of for 15 mins last game put in a good corner and now he's back in the squad, a backwards step and people who think it wasn't are crazy, we will be relegated if we take a backward steps. From what I seen this year, Senior needs to start. Yes Johnson is strong and a very good player but Senior is lot more dangerous and its goals we need. We need Shotton back on loan ( if we can ) defence is weak, left back goes missing a lot and Young's confidence has clearly been knocked. Centre Mid is our weakest area, we desperately need a box to box centre mid. We need a Val owen type player who can break up attacks and who is constantly all over there midfield, snapping at their ankles. Our mid always stand a couple of yards off and allow them to play or shoot. Lets start with Elam and Senior on Monday, not to be negative but I feel a draw is the best we can get, just being realistic.

Altrincham FC First Team / Tonight
« on: August 12, 2008, 10:02:59 PM »

A couple of things from tonight.

We must start Elam and Denham on the wings.

Johnson looks a really really good player, just need to get him fit.

Think we were poor at the back, would love to see Shotton next to Young, we kept panicking when we  scored.

Little is god.

One last thing, not on here to start a debate, but the way Logan was treated was a disgrace. The lad was 22years old when he came to us and sat on our bench watching sh*te players play week in and week out in front of him on the wings. The likes of Toulson, O'Neil and Peyton. Does anyone really have a good reason to criticise him?????? he moved on because he is a player with ambition. He turned up to training every week and gave a hundred per cent every time he came on. No-one passed to him and he was slagged off at any slight mistake and there were players playing sh*te week in and week out. You booed because he is a talent. Good luck to the lad and  he will prove people wrong. He was great defensive too. People will try and say he played harder but he looked like the same player when he was wearing our shirt. I've never seen a player get abused so much in all my time for no reason whatsoever.
