We need a thorough explanation of how, when and why we use these covers because at the moment they’re coming across like a waste of time and donated money. I may be wrong, but forgive me for thinking they should have been used overnight - what else did we get them for if not?
Totally agree.

I love the sentence which tells us that it was “‘cognitive impairment' that caused Lacey to breach the anti-doping rules”

Is that something to do with short planks, two of?

this must be a contender for the 'most non league thread ever' award

What sandwiches are we all packing?
A blast from the past - sandwich spread. To be eaten in the lay-by opposite the Cat and Fiddle.

I find it difficult to understand some of the blame comments being levelled at certain players on here.  Stockport have proved, again, that they have the measure of us.  They have quality from 1-11 and know how to manage the play; I’d not be surprised were they to win the league and fair play should they manage to.

For our part, Hampson and Richman worked hard through 90, others found it harder.  I do consider the level of criticism TT is getting to be unfair and while I appreciate  there is a  case for playing Wynne, bringing him in to face  Stockport would have been a big ask.  Mantack, on the other hand, looks out of his depth but I hope I’m proved wrong.

So onwards, smarting from a disappointing Xmas perhaps but, hopefully, a bit wiser too.  Third place may have flattered us and fanned the flames of optimism, however, if we regain the form we’ve shown during much of the season so far, we have every right to consider ourselves worthy of the play-offs.
Quality post.

Must say it was a great header from Moult to Hulme for the winner
......... but it was a foul from what I saw..........
Certainly the Chester fans in the stand opposite were all on their feet in some sort of animated protest so I suspect you might be right.

Does anybody know what car parking is like at Stockport County? Can you get near the ground at least; especially as transport seems to be going against us at present.
From John Laidlar’s site:
“Supporters should be informed that there will be no parking at the ground and they can use nearby ‘Booth Street’ car park (SK3 9DF) for which a charge of Ł4.00 is payable. This is a secure car park which will be staffed throughout the match from noon to 7pm".

I too was looking forward to a leisurely train ride from Buxton but it looks like I’ll be driving now.

I really can’t believe the bullsh*t that is being written about a bit of paint. Is it April Fools’ Day?

........... I get no impression whatsoever that after the celebrations of last season were over, Rowley pulled PP aside and said right, I want us right at the top, lets aim high and if we end up top 10 we've done our best.....what do you need?...no impression whatsoever of the ship being steered and propelled from the front......
Does he have your phone number so you can be consulted on all board room matters?

He’ll be on the team coach with his headphones on, listening to his  favourite band, AC/DC.

Though there could be some resistance from his teammates.

First time we've won there in over 20 years, and first time I've seen us do it in 6 visits going back to 1978 !

Great team performance against a full time side. Was congratulated by a number of their fans when leaving, and I have to agree with the one who reckoned they wouldn't see a better goal than JJ's this season.

Particularly pleased with the way we weathered the 10 minute storm following their equaliser. Bad free kick decision from another poor ref (nowhere near as bad as Saturday's clown though !) and I thought Thompson's positioning was questionable. Previous Alty sides would have buckled, but we fought them off.

Agree with all the above.

Thompson won't be happy when he sees it back but I'm sure he'll learn for next time.

Great performance and what a goal from JJ.

Full Time? So they practice that all week then? Wow.

PP's Red & White Army!

My one and only negative is that it was another set piece goal we've conceded which makes it 3 from 3..

Agree with all the above too.
JJ’s goal is surely already a candidate for goal of the season, even decade. I was in line with the shot so to see it coming towards me and curl the way it did, in seeming slow motion, outside the reach of a diving keeper was almost balletic. With JJ hitting it in his stride with the outside of his right foot made it appear very Showleresque too.

A very enjoyable night so thanks to the team.

....for Chesterfield.

Good luck to him on stepping up to full time - apparently he was starting work at 6am making boxes

I do have to say he didn't impress me overly on the three occasions that I saw him last season, but his strike rate was decent, and at 24 he's got time to develop.

I assume he was a box to box midfielder  :)

Fox in the box.

Shaw Lee not.....
