Oooh I've come over all religious in a nostalgia stylee. Verily I say unto thee that in days gone by our cup did overflow with the scalps of the vanquished. Let us once more congregate in celebration and start to refill that cup of joy......

One round at a time sweet Alty,
Is all I'm asking from you,
I just need the cash,
And an advance pass to come and watch you,
Yesteryear's gone sweet Alty,
At Blue Star now we must shine,
Oh help us I pray, to win on the day,
One round at a time.

I thank you brethren........

4th qual beat Newcastle

1st Round Beat Vics

2nd Round beat Macc

3rd Round Man Utd or Liverpool at The Lane
Were'nt you putting this competition down as a tinpot cup on the other thread ::)

LOL no i weren't i were saying that i see a game against weymouth more important than a 4th qualifying round game

If you believe that, which I'm not convinced you do, then you're an idiot.

I'm not sure we could switch venues if we drew Utd at home we may have to play them at home.

I'm sure most fans would want to see us walk out at OT rather than Moss Lane V Utd.

The lost point(s) at Weymouth may have kept us up, the loss at NBS may cost us a trip to Anfield or a crap home defeat to Vauxhall Motors...who knows?...each and every game holds it's own importance....apart from the cheshire cup obviously.

Is it just me or are there a few dreamers on here??

I'll be very happy to get past NBS and get into the competition proper.

absoluely, and a decent draw against one of the bigger clubs therefore a few quid in the coffers

but, while we're dreaming do you remember howdeflating it was to get in the 3rd round and draw orient?

Indeed, maybe even worse (no disrespect Phil) reaching the fourth round and drawing York.

Tbh, i would be happy just to get through to the 1st proper, after the years we went drawing the like of Tamworth. I enjoed the atmosphere that came with the Wigan/Darlo/Crewe and Millwall games.....

Its a day away from league action, and i've always fancied us 'on the day' !

Beating 2 Newcastle teams in the same competition would be good
