Title: Superb motivation for tomorrow
Post by: Mrs Warbouys on February 09, 2015, 10:07:38 PM
"It'll no doubt be 'same again' from Alty tomorrow, namely get in our faces, give us no time on the ball and hoof it out of defence as soon as it gets anywhere near their box. It's not pretty, in fact our two previous encounters were two of the worst games of football I've seen all season, but they played to their limited strengths. Its up to us to dictate play on home soil, and not get dragged into scrapping it out in the middle of the pitch for 90 minutes again."

Hoof ball?......

"No, no, it's alright lads, let them have as much of the ball as they want, don't put a foot in and when the ball comes near the box play silly little 3 yard hospital passes in front of goal".

In your face football is what I want. Just because you smack a defensive clearance 40 yards from goal doesn't mean you can't then play football on the attack. I think that's the bit they forget.

The best teams in the world have midfielders who are in your face it's no insult as for hoof ball I don't think we play that well Pehaps we would have more culture if we could afford the players they have then lie about the wage bill

Askey I recall made some splendidly bitter comments to the MEN after we knocked them out of the Trophy as well.

A small club with the mentality to match.

I'm more likely to nominate Askey for this year's Knobsock Award than I am Kittrick.

A nice passing team we may be, but a nice passing team in the two previous games against Macclesfield, we were not.

They're so hacked off because no matter what happens tonight, they can't win 'best out of three' this season.  :) :-* :-*

Very very bizarre!

I think that translates to:

'No doubt Altrincham will come and take the game seriously, treat it like a derby game and defend well'

Ermmm, yes?!?!?!?

Think you guys are confused. The above is taken from the Macc fans messageboard. It isn't an Askey quote.
