Can I just point out, in case there is any perception that the club's media department is in any way to blame, that I send a back page article to The Messenger - and The Advertiser, for that matter - every week, and it is always the latest up to date news. Normally, it is on The Messenger's website before the paper actually comes out, so I'm not sure what went wrong here. Perhaps it would be best to direct any complaints to the paper. They can be contacted by email sam.editorial@messengergrp.co.uk or phone 0161 908 3381.

I was referring to the time lapse of the messenger publishing the reports. Not the football clubs reporting

Indeed.  Not complaining, merely remarking on the tardiness of their emailed headlines.

We don't get any local papers delivered round here, so I have no idea what makes the back pages or not; if they're anything like I was, they are probably all stuffed into a skip round the back of the Cresta Court :)
