Pity we still don't have Robbie Williams against their Michael Jackson!

Oh yes. I really fancy us to build on these good starts this year. Once the opposition have to come out and chase the game we should be good enough to pick them off.

-
Halifax 0-1 Colwyn Bay
-
Who is Danny Luck?
Auntie Danny Luck!
-
Would like to see reevesy get more of his shots on target.
-
Top commentary - the most descriptive we've had yet. The challenge is to keep it up when the good chances come as that is the most difficult aspect for commentating fans as the fan takes over from the commentator, as the excitement builds the description becomes a succession of empassioned ohs and ahs!
-
"Big in Rubber" getting plenty of plugs, good job there was one for the commentators too then!
-
I use the there tyre place in Sale moor all the time all ways had an excellent service from them
-
Histon 2 down against Worcester

Phew that sounded close
-
Was it just my radio robins that went quiet for 10 seconds just as Brian's volume went to to maximum? "he's got round his man and pulled it back a great chance and.."..nothing. It came back as Brian said it was danylyk who'd cleared the second chance!
-
I WAS HALF LISTENING AS I WAS ON THE PHONE TO THE WIFE

Did Worcester city used to have a Mark Owen (or another Take That member) - I may be wrong, my brain doesn't quite store all the useful/useless information that male brains seem to!

Oh dear. One clean sheet in four games does not get you promoted. Hyde's wonderboy Spencer must be licking his lips for Saturday.

In fairness I think we were lucky to be 2-0 up, still disappointing to lose 2 quick goals.

I thought we we're the better side over 80 minutes (what I understand of the commentary and updates).
What was the foul the penalty was given for ?
-
ft 2-bloody 2
feel deflated now after their comeback
-
really thought we would start to put a nice little run together :-[
onwards and upwards - early days
-
Very disappointed after being 2-0 up. On the plus side we haven't lost.
What news on Clee?
-
thanks RR and JL between you we were able to follow Alty at least
-
To be fair tonight did not sound like Harrogate when we battered them and should have won about 8-2, certainly sounds like their was an element of fortune in our 2nd goal and Vauxhall appear to have had us on the backfoot for a fair bit of it (going off the text commentary from JL). Very frustrating to chuck away 5 points already though away from home this season.
-
Wank! You can't throw a two goal lead away in this league if you want to go up.
-
Totally gutted!
-
cheers for commentary; let's hope for better times and results;
I do think we spill too much points against the "weaker" teams (Harrogate, VM).
Hope we can turn the tide.
Good night.
-
Absolute F*****G disgrace to be 2-0 up in this tin pot league with 6 minutes to play, and then let in 2. Yet again a late penalty. >:( >:( >:( Sinnott, get it sorted. >:( >:( >:(
5 points from 12 is total garbage. >:( >:(
-
I shouldn't be gutted as We haven't lost, yet I really am. Just threw it away.
-
Keeping the headphones on still, just in case the missus doesn't realise the game's over!
and we did better than QPR (QPR 0 - 2 Rochdale). it would have been us but for those 2 lost votes!

on behalf of the Mrs Altyfans union Mrs Bath Alty laughed but said it's not fair and she will report you!

Dust ourselves off and still a point ... Keep them ticking ....
-
Not sure if this is anything to go by but we're still on the same points as Halifax so all is not lost.
Disappointed tonight but there's still time to get things right.
-
Dust ourselves off and still a point ... Keep them ticking ....
Exactly - not what we deserved but another point
The "big 4"
Alty played 4, points 5
Halifax played 4, points 5
Nuneaton played 4, points 4
Boston played 4, points 4
Bring on Saturday!
-
We were bossing that midfield until the manager took lynch off why the f**k not leave it be when it works. OK Clee was injured but Lynch looked ok.. I hope Mr Sinnott isnt one of those managers who is always fkn about with subs throughout games.
Not impressed with that last 10 minutes
Fkn Darlington last season all over again...
We were pissing that game until Lynch went off
If he wasnt injured then it was just a fkn ridiculous decision
-
Hence the wise words my Dad sasid to me today, ''It's always a cagey start in the first five games''. We could still win the league; there is always pressure in a new league with a new manager just give the lads time and I'm sure we can attain a respectable league position in or around the play-offs.
We can dominate this league if the squad can find a real way to play and just stop taking their foot off the pedal once we have a 2-0 lead. We were lucky at Histon that they didn't score, and I think the lads learnt their lesson after today's 'typical alty' slip up.
Consistency is the key.
Cmon Alty!
-
Agree about the substitution of Lynch, we were looking good to get three points until he went off, however I don't particularly think we were cruising the game, and with Lynch on or not, Vauxhall looked like they could snatch a goal.
We took our foot completely off the gas at 2-0 and it created a mentality for the second half in which we invited the pressure onto ourselves. We cant expect to just go onto autopilot at 2-0 and let the rest of the game take care of itself.
-
We gave them there point then, it should have been sealed for sure, take a striker off at 2-0 and say goodnight the bars shut but no what do we do.....make a daft sub that forced no conclusion to the scoring
-
Gutting to throw a 2 goal lead away but it was a fair result im afraid.
-
I suppose one way to look at it, is that we are now unbeaten in three league games but I'm sure most won't see it like that.
The team have been maddingly inconsistent so far and defensively away from home especially, we appear to be giving away soft goals. Lets be honest neither Harrogate or VM will get in the Play Offs so leaking 5 goals at them two is not good.
Hyde away on Saturday will be our toughest game of the season so far and with a fair bit of spice with all the Hyde old boys on our staff too, lets see how we respond at Ewen Fields then.
-
Draw was a fair result and Vauxhall won't be amonsgt the worst sides we play this year. Their number 9 was the best player on the pitch and the number 11 caused us a few problems as well.
Think we actually scored too early if thats possible in the second half if thats possible. We then let them come onto us (and you would expect them to as the home team chasing a game) but we didnt look in too much danger.
Then a good strike for their goal and you almost knew it would end 2-2.
Maybe Lynch had a knock or a strain...if he didnt then it was that subsitution that changed it...sometimes they win you games and sometimes they don't work.
Summerskill actually did quite well when he came on but the physical presence of Lynch was keeping them at bay.
Disappointed at throwing away the lead but credit to Vauxhall as well, they deserved their point.
Sorry to say that Reeves had one of those games where he didn't show up..lets hope he has got that out of his system
-
On the evidence of the four league matches I've seen to date, we look nothing more than a middle-of-the-table side, I'm afraid.
Five points out of a possible 12 against three distinctly ordinary sides and one very poor one does not augur well.
The defence looks alarmingly ponderous and always liable to concede a goal.
I agree with the previous postings regarding the puzzling substitution of the effective Lynch and can only conclude that he must have been injured.
Vauxhall Motors fully deserved their point, as they created far better chances than we did.
Their No. 9, McGivern, was head and shoulders above our two forwards.
Early doors, admittedly, but I confess to being worried.
-
Should feel like a mugging but a draw was a fair result.
Summerskill looks okay at creating, he crossed the ball for the Twiss miss athe end, but does not look strong enough to play CM in this league.
I agree that the Lynch subbing gave them a foothold in the match.
Clee looked leggy from the off, but Lees did okay.
Hyde's going to be a big test esp. for the defence.
-
I just a bit concerned we are getting above our station a little.
We have no divine right to beat Vauxhall, we don't normally get a point there.
We're going through a settling down period after a relegation with a new manager and some new players. It's going to take a bit of time clearly, there are lessons to be learnt and we have to learn them fast.
However we're not sat with no points and no hope.
Onwards to Hyde.
-
We've conceded an average of 1.5 penalties per game on the road this season. In my opinion they've ALL been soft awards, but we're leaving ourselves open to it happening.
-
Apologies folks for the intermittent service on Radio Robins tonight. We can't lay any blame with the technology on this occasion.....I'm afraid it was down to me & on reflection the root cause of the issue was the lack of any electricity supply in the Press area at Rivacre Park........& I should have checked that.
The lack of power meant that we started the laptop as late as possible & the early transmission issues were due to the fact that the microphone wasn't properly plugged in.We got through to half time, but there was no way the battery was going to last for the second half & therefore I started charging it up in the secretary's office, during the interval.I was still there when our second goal went in seconds after the restart.....then returned to the Press area, but in rushing to reset the system, I input an incorrect digit & whilst it appeared to us we were broadcasting.....we weren't......not on Radio Robins anyway!
By the time we sorted it all out, it was fairly clear that we wouldn't have enough power to get through the game & the power disappeared with about ten minutes to go.
I'd had a bad night on Radio Robins, missed the second goal & was a bit glum......but heavily consoled by the fact that we were 2-0 up & Vauxhall's first half excellence was not matched by their second half performance......then 'big trouble at mill' & just a point to show for our efforts.
In terms of Radio Robins.....if I had asked about the power supply, I would have ensured that my laptop was fully charged & made arrangements for a standby to be available. If I'd done that, then I think we would have had an uninterrupted commentary as the other mistakes were caused by rushing unnecessarily.
So apologies again & I will serve my fully deserved two match commentary ban. :o
-
I wouldn't beat yourself up too much about it Brian.
It's hardly unreasonable to believe that a club may have some sort of press area, however basic, that contained a plug.
-
We need to learn FAST how to close games out. Its no good getting a decent lead and then sitting back thinking job done.
Keep going for the 90 mins and press on.
I'm so frustrated this morning its untrue
I have never said we will piss the league etc but in my view and having been there, we should have beaten both Harrogate and Vauxhall with a bit to spare
-

Did we sit back or did they come on to us though?
They were the home team looking to get something from the game.
It's sheer arrogance to say we should have just closed the game down. We're not that good and Vauxhall are not that poor to simply allow that to happen.
-
A disappointing result, mostly due to the circumstances, a last minute pen was never going to go down well was it?
They were actually quite threatening up front for spells of the second half, and Stu had a few good saves to make.
Disappointment, but not panic stations. Bring on Hyde...
-
Its not arrogance to expect a team with a 2 - 0 lead and ten minutes left to do the simple things right and see out what should have been a victory Mark
Admittedly its only my opinion but when Lynch went off we seemed to lose control of the midfield which they obviously exploited. I am not saying we have a divine right to win games in this league but if we are going to give away 2-0 leads with 10 mins left then we will be in the same position as we ended up last season.
They had plenty of possession but I thought we coped reasonably well with it. (until minute 80)
-
Can't complain with a draw overall. Just hard to swallow given that we were 2 up so late into the game. Great to hear the singing from our fans. Let's just hope we can iron out the wrinkles quickly and start climbing the table.
-
Football is a simple game. At the end of 90 minutes, the team that has scored the greater number of goals is declared the winner. Last night, it seemed obvious to me that Reeves was exhausted at half time. The VM defence also seemed vulnerable to a turn of speed. There were moments when even Twiss appeared pacey against them. So why didn't the manager send on Mulholland for Reeves early in the second half? Sinnott did send him to warm up but when VM scored their first, Mulholland was stood down. IMO, this demonstrated a lack of ambition and merely encouraged VM to come on to us more. Our capitulation seemed inevitable. What's the point of having a really pacey, hungry striker on the bench and not playing him?

Pacy - Yes
Hungry - Quite likely
Enormously inexperienced - definitely
If I were a Manager (many will say thank God I'm not), faced with the situation we appear to have been faced with last night (Close to end of game, just conceded and coming under pressure) I would forego the chance that my quick young striker may give me an out ball by dint of his pace alone. Instead I would choose not to further disturb the team on the pitch and to keep on the players who have experience in the hope that said experience would allow us to hold out for a win.
I was discussing how Lynch seems to just go about his business without being flashy or 'pulling up any trees' in a sort of Eddie Hussin type way only yesterday. It seems that our view of his importance has been reinforced by last nights eventual outcome
-
phil when we were 2-0 up with 10 minutes to go and are forwards were blowing out of there arses and also missing sitters i'd like for u to explain why it wouldnt of been to our advantage to play counter attack football and bring mullholland on to chase everything?
oh and one more thing if your not going to give astley a bloody chance with 10 minutes to go and 2-0 up what was the point in signing him, ridiculous

oh right then we'll wait till then for us to make better substitutions, zzzzzzzzzz
So you're not aware that time is continuous either? You think we have to bring him on early in the season or in the last game, since it's impossible to rotate the forward line between September and April?
It's extremely sad that you find the need bait others with such pathetic claims. It's even sadder that you seem to think your laughable opinions count for something.
Lee Sinnott has had a team promoted from this division. I for one am willing to trust his judgement and shan't lose all faith because Astley Mulholland didn't get a late run-out against Vauxhall Motors.

for Christ sake can't u see I'm just making the point we could be better as last night we let 3 points slip through bad substitutes, u can laugh at that opinion all u like but its true, u sound like you've never even played the game, as fans what do all our opinions count for? Enlighten me? BTW I believe we can get promoted but only if we get things like closing games like last night right
