Altrincham FC First Team / Re: National League Streams
« on: August 14, 2023, 08:21:46 PM »
I complained through the webpage on Saturday when no stream was available and have just received confirmation that they’ve refunded 5.62 GBP to my account (I have the season ticket).

Works perfectly well already in Austria…you can have an app on your phone with a QR code which can then be scanned and checked. I used mine for the first time today to enter the swimming baths.
Those who don’t have a smart phone just receive a letter with the QR code and can use that. The QR code system is being used EU wide, no reason why it can’t work in the UK too.

Great effort to get this up and running so quickly. It’s amazing how I’ve gone from relying on text messages for updates less than 20 years ago to Live streaming. I’d also be interested in a live stream season ticket.

I'd be delighted if it's on BBC World News as i've got that channel, however I've never known them show live footy before...the closest we get is a reduced football focus programme and some coverage of final score.
Could it be instead that BBC world service are covering it on the radio?

Just going back to the original link to the twitter message and the reference to "live overseas" coverage...does anybody have any more information on this? Is there a possibility of a live feed directly from the game that can be picked up online? Just seems strange that anywhere outside of the UK is going to be watching the FA cup 1st round.

I today learnt that there is no German for Tom, Dick or Harry...

Ok, I'm clutching at straws here.

Looking forward to this - Vienna Alty (all three members) will be congregating at Flanagans in the city centre for the match.
If anyone happens to find themselves in Vienna on that date, feel free to join us  :)

Mark,

Tempted to join you for some Sachertorte....but the lure of Moss Lane is just too strong...!

Don't blame you - Vienna struggles to compete with Moss Lane on occasions like that. Still, if we win, they'll be waltzing in the streets of Vienna.  :)

Good work, get the lad Langers out!

I'll give him a bell. Just hope his bladder wasn't permanently damaged by the Stoke experience  ;D
Will let you know if there are any funny smells.

Not quite Moss Lane but I remember a story about the Brazil squad training at Alty Grammar during the 1966 World Cup as they were staying in Lymm. I take it that would have meant Pele training there with them. Not sure if anyone can back it up, or whether the story is complete rubbish but the late great Roy Coleman would often talk about it in Geography lessons.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Forestdale Hotels
« on: June 07, 2011, 10:55:05 PM »
Anyone who wants rates for the hotels, or advice on which to visit, drop me a line.
The more business I can generate for the hotel group from this sponsorship, the more likely I am to be able to extend it in the future.

I have on average 4-5 hotel stays per month in the UK when I'm on business (all over the country but often meetings are tied in with where Alty happen to have a midweek away game!). I'll certainly be looking to use Forestdale hotels as they seem to mostly come under my max budget of 100 euros per night. Is there anything I can put on the booking online to show the booking came as a direct result of the club sponsorship?

Brilliant - you'll have a listener in Vienna tonight!

Ravel Morrison has also posted on this forum in the past iirc...trying to get us to sign some of his mates who'd been released (released from United, not jail, I think!)

41 Beesley hauled down by last man but yellow card only for no.25 bad decision

Last man is totally irrelevant it's whether Beesley was more than likely to score that defines the colour of card

Surely if the defender is the last man and he gets beyond him, he must have a realistic goalscoring chance? Or does the ref not rate Beesley either?!
