Just a thought but quite an interesting one, i'd like to know what you think would have happened to alty if we'd gone up that year???
and i know someones goin to say premiership and be unrealistic but well wimbledon did it didnt they!  we had a decent budget then didnt we

i rekon either mid table league 2 or like top of the bsp (as a full time side) like a burton or stevenage

Crystal ball gazing and all that, but given Macc's experiences I would think it would be 50/50 between kicking around the bottom of Div 2 or somewhere lower down the pyrimad having gone bump following a disasterous takeover by an ambitious Property Developer.


Now if we had been promoted in 1980..............

I think more liike Rochdale, bottom half of div2 year in year out, probably with quite a bit of debt

Christ, if we had imploded as we did that summer and performed like we did the following season we'd have sunk without trace. Talk about the (truly) sublime to the ridiculous.
