Altrincham FC First Team / Re: This £5 entry offer on Saturday
« on: April 02, 2012, 08:52:49 PM »
The fallout from this will probably just about finish me off but I'll do it anyway.

We can't just offer to local people so its open to people from Hyde who may have a City season ticket as well as its a big City area.

I'm sure the club would love to offer £5 entry to everyone but it isn't possible.

It's just a way of getting hopefully a few new faces down to watch us as Utd and City aren't playing.

Last season a colleague who is a Hull season ticket holder but lives in Sale came down, he would have come to this one but its Easter weekend and he has something on. I keep on at him to come more regularly but if you've got every fortnight occupied with your own team and forking out money there then I guess its a bit of a stretch to support 2 teams at full price.

A plan that people can see has an end. For example, how much money is needed to ................then we have a Blue Peter style totaliser until said item is purchased.

Did we ever get a new pa amplifier that the sponsorship of the Opening match music was designed to achieve - I still cant hear a word of what is said at the start of the game in the main stand and have to send my lad running up to the commentary box to get the squad numbers of those we didnt hear or recognise.

Wouldnt it be amazing to get 37 junior teams worth of players down to a Sat game all in their kits !

I think its a seperate company to gain eligibility to apply for various grants.

And Sinnott - I'm bored of him now.

I sit in the main stand and it used to be entertaining, GH used to turn and comment occasionally to the stand, shout to the ref, try fighting with the opposite manager, Kenny was a character with Alty history, his joy at the Eastbourne Game when we were level was amazing, and the stories of him destroying the water bottles in the dressing room in frustration showed clear passion - what have we have from Sinnot thats entertaining or showing any passion for Alty?

You can go on about Robbie Lawton, Danylyk and Brown leaving but THEY wanted to and, TBH, if a player wants to leave then I'd rather not have him, no matter how good he might be.

Robbie Lawton didnt want to leave, and watching that shower of sh*t at the back today I've no doubt he would have done a better job.

Several times I saw no.6, our Captain, dont know his name because there are so many new players, get caught out by a ball to their player and then be too chunky and slow to catch him before he got a shot away at goal.

The forward end worked well today, with Reeves, Redshaw, Clee, Lawrie - the four of them are sorted and given the right support would cane it, but the rest bar for Stu - who the F*ck are they !

Coburn kept us in it today as best he could, man of the match for me, he stopped so many of their chances that our defence had let through.

And I can only imagine Stu throwing the ball out to our no.3 for him to give it straight back to the other team is a strategy from Sinnott that doesnt work! I've rarely seen Stu throw it out rather then hoof it upfield.

I doubt that there are many fans who could put the correct names to all the faces on a team photo at present.

I've told my kids to start bringing a pen so we can put numbers to names on the programme as the team is announced !

To his credit he had one in his pocket away at Droylsden but when I went to get a programme they had sold out!

our gates have nearly halfed with the drop in league

Average gate 10/11 was just over 1000, its generally 700-800 this season which is probably more the lack of away fans than home fans.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: So Then - Witton at Home
« on: September 19, 2011, 12:53:01 PM »
The 15th is the 3rd qual round, 4th qual on the 29th.

Got ya. So if Alty beat Witton, they will play on the 15th either H or A depending on the draw.

Any idea when the draw for this is made?

£1.30 for a cuppa last night too - I'll have to get the flask back in action for the winter games.

I try and buy at Stamford Park News over the road before the game - I started doing that after they sponsored the stewards last season - figured that way I was still supporting the club indirectly.

If they dont sponsor again this season I might have to rethink my strategy!

The problem with putting them in sub forums is that they just don't get read.

Ha Ha, thats the same with any forum isnt it, good intentions of folders but everyone posts in the main one because they know it will get read ;-)

Saying that, I always page down as soon as I go into the main forum and never pay any attention to the stickies even if there are new threads/posts present.

Well said - it frustrates me too having so many, especially when browsing on the mobile.

Could we unsticky/move some more, how about :-

"New starters to Alty" folder on the main page with the "Who are ya", "welcome to the new look forum", "Opinions on Alty" , perhaps we could write a newbies/dummies guide to Alty FC too - I would have benefited from that when I joined up, I'd be happy to make a first draft of what I've learnt over the last year.

"Friends of Alty draw", "Online Bucket", "Latest Sat Yankee" all moved to one of the 2 fundraising folders (Perhaps consolidate to just 1 folder)

Which would leave the current stickie list as :-

the 2 Mark Maddox threads, Stewards, and Goal Rush (although this could go in fundraising?)

To keep focus on all the fundraising schemes a repost of the occasional summary thread from GR promoting all the schemes?
