What matches are you going to be looking for first when the fixtures come out? For me, it comes down to the games I'll realistically be able to attend.
I'm hoping we get Bath away on a Saturday as it will make a brilliant weekender (work permitting!).
Also, my "local" games (somewhat depleted now Ebbsfleet and Grays have gone!) will be high up on my list:
AFC Wimbledon, Crawley, Eastbourne, Hayes & Yeading, Luton.
-
grimsby away on a febuary freezing tuesday night will be fun!!!
-
Cambridge and Histon away, and anything outside of university term time for next year. Also Southport away which would let me visit a mate!
-
Newport and Bath at there place as they are easy(ish) for me to get to. Kiddy and Wrexham for the same reason. I live with a guy from just outside southport so we'll probably both end up going to that, home and away, so hopefully it is over xmas or the bank holidays.
And the fixtures are out on my birthday. At least one reason to get excited about that day then.

Ah yes.....that well trodden route......Aberystwyth to Bath ;D
-
It wouldn't be all that difficult. Its only a train, or a car journey if i can get Cymru Alty to do it... ;D

Aberystwyth to Bath
Total Distance: 140.77 mile(s), 226.55 km(s)
Estimated journey time of: 3 hour(s) 9 minute(s)
Hardly worth jumping in the car for ;D
-
Any home game and the route march of 5 miles to Wrexham, listening to the whingers and Saunders (comical) report when Alty win bliss ;D

We'll do it in 2. ;D
The trip to Grimsby will be the best though, Distance: 245.6 miles, Time: 4 hr 50 min

Obviously first game of the season to see who we have, then Christmas & New Year then the run in.
Plus Fleetwood & Southport away...
And I have a mate in SC**thorpe who wants to go to Grimsby with me
-
The beer/nice places trips, ie Cambridge (twice), Bath, and please let York be a Saturday.
My home game at AFCW.
I'm also going to hope for Gateshead on a Saturday, so I can have my nostalgia Newcassel weekend.
It never happens though it will be a combination of midweek aways and me on call preventing any decent trips. I'll be fine for Crawley.....as ever.
* Edit, Eastbourne away, never made it yet through work, so third time lucky.
-
Hopefully a really good piss up on the last day of the season at Hayes and Yeading away.
-
Eastbourne and Southport away. Hopefully in the summer.
-
Looking forward to Grimsby and Darlington away on the secret chartered Altrincham FC Football Special Train a.k.a. The Manchester Airport Line. If these are midweek games a day off and an all dayer is the way ahead. Stopping off for real ale at the stations of Stalybridge, Huddersfield and a pint in York.
-
The trans pennine express service is going to benefit greatly from conference football next season, Altrincham (the railink) York, Grimsby, Darlington and Gateshead all being on that route! The airport statiom really is good for northern destinantions in this league, and is altrinchams "secret" train station. You can actually get direct trains for from the railink to Barrow,Darlington, Fleetwood Gateshead,Grimsby, Southport,York, all without changing trains or pissing about in manchester

Southport fits that bill mate. Long way from SW London though...

I wonder if I'm the only Alty fan to have never been to Southport?
-
We will have wrexham or southport on the august bank holiday
-
Definately Southport away and fleetwood away. Weekends at the seaside, Wait a minute i live at the seaside ( if you can call Rhyl the seaside).Still Those 2 fixtures are probably going to be the only away games i will get too.
Lokking forward to getting to Moss Lane more next season as well.
-
I'll be looking for games from 21st - 30th August, as I will be missing these games due to holiday (though hopefully I might get back for 30th if it's at home). If Crawley and Histon away can be on those dates, that would be great ;)
-
Any home games between 21st-25th Sept - my annual hols in driving distance of Moss Lane
-
City, Arsenal and Chelsea. Every year I look, but it's always sh*t like Ebbsfleet, FGR and Tamworth instead.
-
Bath, Histon/Cambridge and AFC Wimbledon away on a weekend - happy days again!!
-
Straight to the Xmas Fixtures to see where we'll be spending Boxing Day and NYD, then fingers crossed for Saturday aways at York and Grimsby. Fancy Darlington and Southport as well. AFC Wimbledon sounded amazing last year so throw that in too.
I'd better get saving...!

Good to see so many of you looking forward to coming down to Twerton Park. I've been reading this forum now and again and keeping an eye on Alty for a few seasons having adopted them as a sort of second team, definitely the first fixture I'll be looking for along with Newport. On the subject of City/Alty games, can anyone remember this guy that played for you at our place around 15 years ago? He had the best dodgy hair cut I've ever seen in football, odd looking dreads with a bit on the front that was a sort of dog bone shape hanging down over his face, quality.

You may be referring to Charlie Bradshaw who has passed away very recently. Not sure if it's him you mean though.

He's not referring to Charlie Bradshaw. The player in question is Dave Esdaille and the game in question is John King's first game in charge of his 3rd spell in Feb 1994. The description is absolutely bang on!! :D
-
Ballers,
Is this Mister Esdaille as he looks these days?
Alas, that unique hairstyle is no more....

I live very close to Southport, so looking forward to that greatly. Bath also sounds like a great day out. As an away fan, I'll be staying well away from Fleetwood though.
-
I wouldnt worry about going to fleetwood, once their likely lads have been slapped about by some proper boys from the exleague sides and put firmly in their place, they wont be half as bosterious, anyone can play "The big I am" against vauxhall and harrogate.
-
For a change after the last few seasons.. ALL OF THEM and going to try and stay over and make a weekend of at least 1 of them :)
Lets get this cup de world or whatever out the way and bring on the CONFERENCE PREMIER SEASON ... oh and smacc in a friendly :)

I have that game on DVD......Ballers is correct....it was Dave Esdaille.

I bet you haven't Flynny..I bet its on a good old VHS like mine...
That video contains the worse miss I have ever seen by someone (Nigel Shaw?) from about one yard and the commentator actually laughs at Dave Esdaile and calls him "the haircut man"
-
The Damned Yorkists home and away.
Bath, almost certainly not make it but this is one to look back on with some good memories personally.
Darlo at the Safe Crackers Stadium
Grimesby. Grimsby has a "Grime Street", s'true.
FA Cup 4th round day when we're live on the goggle box beating the vermin up the road 3-0 at mold trafford.
