Title: Con-Clark, Justin & Baines
Post by: AltyNotFaulty on October 03, 2023, 09:58:52 PM
A great result tonight but a special shout out to these three. The two forwards were unplayable at times and Baines at the back was an absolute gladiator. What a superb goal from Cricky 👏🏻

Aldershot were very good and a huge improvement in personnel from the games I’ve seen here over the years.

With players to come back and reinforcements that could come in, It’s looking good Robins.

P.S The curry’s we’re very nice

I fear we need to enjoy watching CCC this season because....well yes we all know what happens next.

I was thinking the same just the other day, he might not be the only one of interest if we continue an excellent season. The vultures could be circling come January.

Do we genuinely think we'd lose Chris in January?

I'm going to work on the assumption that he's on a 2-year deal, so the fee would certainly have to be hefty.

Part of me thinks he absolutely loves it here and will stay until the summer at the very least - we were all surprised about how long Ryan Colclough stuck around.

Even just a couple of years on I'm still shocked coco stayed as long as he did, but we're a different prospect now.

Chances of being able to argue/reason with a player looking to leave when you are on the verge of history making here? It has to be easier than "stay and maybe we'll get top half".

Also the lad stopped a second short of kissing the badge on Tuesday, I'd say he has an idea what he is on to here.

For me it would need to be at least 250k for me to let him go in Jan if someone does come sniffing and that reduces the potential buyers.

Unfortunately inevitable. It amazes me how Parky and Sorvs bring the best out of so many players in short periods of time. Hopefully CCC will be here for a few years at least, that's what I hope anyway.

Didn't Parky say none of the new lads have release clauses? Certainly that'll help

That would be handy. Makes it easier to defend against.

If they haven't got release clauses they need a better agent

It was Rob E who said that in one of his programme articles.

If we are still in a good position in the league then I would like to think they would be happy to stay at ML.

I’m pretty sure if someone like Peterborough offered an agreeable sum to Alty and doubled his wages he would be off in January without hesitation. Moving from 6th in the National League to 6th in League One. No brainer unfortunately!

I totally get what you are saying Alty NF but we have to retain players if we have any hope of gaining a play off place. The lad does seem very happy to be at Alty, however like you state, money is a big persuader. Let’s hope he enjoys it here enough to stay for a while.

Loves Alty.
Highest paid.
Has a baby and partner's family help out, so he can rest for games.
Certainly plays his best footy under Parky.
I am more than confident he ain't going anywhere this season.
