PHIL STEPS DOWN from www.altrinchamfc.com
Grahame Rowley writes, "As Vice Chairman I would like express the football club’s thanks to Phil Taylor who has decided to step down from his role as Safety Officer. He will however continue to help the club on match days by assisting George Heslop in the Office. Darren Gregory has volunteered to take on the role as Safety Officer and John Ford will now become Chief Steward. We would like to thank them all for taking on these responsible positions and helping the club run smoothly on match days".

Thanks you Phil its been a pleasure to work with you all these years. After 25 years its finally got to him or was it his peake rating that did.

I've had many disagreements with Phil, dating back to about 1988 when he was "Phil the Steward" and you had to watch out for him before doing a sly v sign to away fans or the like (I know I know, I was 12)

However the man has given a hell of a lot of time to the club for not a penny.  Its good news that he is staying around as love him or hate him (and he knows he can be controversial) people like Phil are very hard to replace.

And how lucky we are to have two other unpaid people to step into the roles.

Anyone who was unfortunate enough to witness Phil Taylor floundering about on the playing fields of Alty Grammar School in the 1970s will wonder how on earth anyone could ever appoint him to a reputable position at Moss Lane.

Frankly, I say good riddance.

No more cake for you, Phil!

Phil, I would just like to echo the above sentiments, every one has their little spats from time to time, and supporters and stewards dont always see eye to eye over everything, but you are a true club man,and have worked very hard for many years in a very challenging and not always the most rewarding of roles, well done, and many thanks for your hardwork in making matchdays at moss lane safe and enjoyable for young and old for so many years.
hope you enjoy putting your feet up and watching from the game from the office like george does  ;D  :o
