Yeah, legend is a word too easily applied these days. Colin has been, and continues to be fantastic for our club. The question is will he still be talked about in thirty or forty years time (a la Swindells)? He may well be and if so he could rightly be called a legend in my book.

It's all about personal opinions and it is very easy to misinterpret text without recourse to facial expression or follow up discussion.

Not defending or attacking anyone, just spouting my own personal bollox.

Well if that's the rules then Jackie S is the only legend and probably will be the only one ever.

This debate wasn't about legends though..it was about being a great servant.

We established a while back the legend was over used by now servant is under scrutiny.

Its controversial stuff!

That's a good point Mr Chairperson, we have strayed from the path a little.

Colin Little is a great SERVANT to the club.

Did he have a view on "Servant" status?

In the three seasons i have been going to Alty i have been surprised at the number of players in and out of the club. I think a settled team is needed.

Frankly, I'm appalled at this disturbing revelation.

No-one who holds Alty dear to their heart would ever purchase bread rolls baked by a company that is based in Northwich.
I've been boycotting their products for decades....

As I stated on a separate thread, the key to our continued success is to keep the nucleus of the current squad together. Continuity is very important and there is a good bond amongst the current set of players. If I could choose one area to strengthen it would probably be the midfield where we look very thin on the ground once injuries and suspensions start happening. What I would give to have a good attacking midfielder who can get behind defences and put in dangerous crosses!

Also, don't forget we have Chris Senior to come back from injury as well as Kevin Street. Senior is an absolutely key player in my opinion and with him fully fit I truly believe we'd have finished even higher this season.

Approaching 250 appearances, over 100 goals, in fact he is our 8th highest goalscorer of all time, record conference goalscorer, has been top scorer for 5 consecutive seasons (a feat matched post war only by Sir Jackie Swindells), never mind anything else.

To say that it would be disrespectful to our other legends is frankly a load of bollocks. They would have to be world's most insecure to feel put out by that - I can't think waht the criteria for being a good servant would be , 400 appearances, 147 goals?

I think in this instance Phil, instead of being a bit prickly, it's ok to hold your hands up and say "yes, I was talking bollocks, I just felt like being a little controversial (fair enough), dunno why."

We wouldn't think any less of you..
