I've just got off a plane in Bahrain with a four hour wait before an onward flight to Bangalore and somewhat stupidly, I had been hoping that just as our second visit to the New Swill Field had been a 2-1 victory after a 1-1 last season that we could do the same to Oxford.  My only concern was that on recent form, I wasn't sure if Oxford would score.

My spirit of expectation was heightened by my iPod randomly selecting Fanfare for the Common Man at a time that roughly co-incided with full time - and I took this as an omen.  I'm exploring exactly how I get pissed in a Moslem country so as to be completly wasted when passing though Indian Customs at half five Sunday morning.

I was disappointed to see Woking win today (my youngest son Tristan is appearing in Peter Pan at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking with the Fonz playing the role of Captain Hook and Woking fans who I have met are convinced they might go down this year) but it only shows how crap halifax are way from the Shay - I would classify home halifax as being a match we must win.

Come on someone, cheer me up!

EX GK,

If only 'believing' and getting behind the team did translate into acquiring points.

Alas, it isn't that simple.

Things like ability, organisation, skill, commitment, tactics....or the lack of....keep damaging my faith!

At present, we concede far too many goals and struggle to score at the right end.
All of which represents the classic formula for relegation.

Well, it will Cult. 3 points if we get them would see us out of the bottom 4. All the bottom 6 lost again today. Whatever faults we have, they are overcomable in that we only need to improve to the standard of a bad side rather than a poor one in order to stay up. 33 pts will do the trick.

100% agree Cult, but our saving grace is the fact that we are in good company - there are 6 sh*t teams and history suggests that at least one other will go tits up.

Football is like religeon.

God might or might not exist, but what makes people follow God is BELIEF & FAITH - not actaul existance.

Alty might or might not survive, but that should not stop us having BELIEF & FAITH.

i believe a good football team is built on ability, hard work, organisation and discipline, not blind faith.

i wonder if karl marx ever managed a football team?

Not blind faith; but No Faith may permeate to the team.

sorry but i've been through my Bumper Book of Football Rules and I can't find the one that says I can't be critical when the team i support is playing badly.
Title: Re: Kidderminster at home tuesday, 7.45pm
Post by: Hamilton on January 05, 2008, 07:30:10 PM
No one says don't be critical (& there is enough reason to be), but it needs to me measured, constructive and not as destructive as some we have had over the months - I don't actually mean your good self.

Basic management techniques like "You were crap with this, but not so bad on...*.."    *Though I can accept that sometimes the things we have not been so bad on can be hard to find. In my years in management I have never condemned or criticised anyone without pointing out something positive.

i'm going to be peaked out of my mind for this, but a forum is for expressing opinions and, although hoping for a much better result, i will realistically go for 2-0 kiddy, in front of 759

I think the crowd predictions are a bit high to be thonest with you.

And I can't see us getting out of our rut just yet, mainly because Kiddy have some excellent forwards.

Same old, same old lose 1-2, goal fron Senior 62 in front of 716

As iv just said in a previous topic about the rest of the season, the results will come if we play as a team and pass. Sod this long ball sh*t thats what costs us.
Im going for a 2-1 win with Senior 34, then one of the new lads, possibly Cahill in the 69th
