Amazing were in them. Surprised not much detail emerging about the next match.
But then see tweets that Bromley have not legally agreed to rip up there pitch if promoted to grass.. Is this delaying proceedings and why Aldershot remain on Stand by. If Bromley are removed would we get a bye through to next weekend?
Anyone else got any news or theories?

I was wondering about their pitch. TBH, plastic should just be accepted given the way this season went for so many non league clubs. Truro City had to do a near 400 mile round trip for home games towards the end of the season, just to find the nearest ground with a 4G pitch.

This is from the Bromley forum...

It's Gateshead - they've been removed.
Solihull get a bye.

Solihull get a bye.
Which isn't the fair in my opinion .The bye should go to the club who finished highest ie Alty

I actually expect the club to push back here.
Surely if Aldershot aren't admitted, we get the bye straigtht through to Bromley away - and Solihill play Halifax.

That's what I would have thought.
If Bromley go too, then it should be us at home to Moors and Barnet at home to Halifax for places at Wembley shouldn't it?
-
It's all confirmed. Solihull get the bye.

I've got no words to express how appalled I am if this is what happens.
Surely we're going to kick up a real stink about it?
It's a f***ing disgrace.

If this situation arose again next season the team in our position could have thrown the last game of the season to finish 5th rather than 4th and get the bye. Imagine if the team we were playing needed a point to avoid the drop. I assume that’s why they didn’t announce this until yesterday. They must have known for some time.
Farcical way to run a league.
We do seem to find an incredible number of different bureaucratic ways of not going up from this league!
-
They've changed their minds and we have a bye:

And again. First link had us at Barnet next Sat. Updated again to haveus at Bromley next Sunday.

It really is a case of make it up as they go along
-
Quite right to.
Does make the original announcement even more baffling though. Adhering to rules that hadn’t been well thought out was one thing but doing something stupid that was against your rules is unbelievably daft

One game away from Wembley. Incredible
-
Justice ⚖ has prevailed!
One game from Wembley and two from the Football League! 😉
Come on you Supers 👍 🇦🇹 🏆 🥇 🇦🇹
-
Unbelievable farce - but justice prevails in the end. Still dreadful for Gateshead fans.
-
How risible would it be if Bromley were turfed out now!
Can you imagine the outcry if we got a bye to Wembley?! 😉
-
By the way, is the Bromley game being televised on TNT?

Yes

If ANYONE at the National League had sat back and thought about it, surely it would have been better to put the teams already through on the Saturday, and move the other one over to the Sunday.
Either way, it's better than it was a few hours ago.
-
Looking at the article on the BBC website it appears the EFL rejected Gateshead,The National League were happy for them to be promoted if they won the play offs.
-
What a bizarre day but the National League eventually got to the right decision in the end. Feel for Gateshead but the rules & deadlines are clear.
A full week to prep now for Bromley & some extra recovery time for the players. Perfect.
One win for our fourth trip to Wembley. What a prospect.

It seems that the council want to sell the stadium as part of its cost cutting measures and couldnt therefore guarantee that the future new owners would provide a 10 year lease.
This has been ongoing for 2 years, so why on earth did it take until now for EFL to rule on their appeal,.. ?
Feel for Gateshead fans, imagine if boot were on our foot :-\
-
So with Gateshead not satisfying the EFL criteria I take it the JDS does. Has the EFL only just decided this? I take it Trafford Council weren't consulted.
-
We've got a very long lease on the JDS haven't we? More like ninety odd rather than less than ten.

Perhaps the team and supporters coach park midway between the two grounds and await final confirmation. 😂😂😂

Yes. We meet EFL entry requirements but would need to do certain things before the first game and during the season.

Permanent Lavvies for the main stand (rhs) for one! 😉
-
I imagine permanent loos in the away end too. Did I not hear we would have to add a roof to the away end also. Can the club clarify what needs doing to meet EFL standards? Now more than possible promotion odds cut further now. I do know the lease was extended fairly recently in the last 3-4 years I think.
-
Morecambe has open terracing so presumably not. We may struggle with planning permission for a roof at the Chequers End, given the housing.

I suppose they'd rejig the whole thing yet again.
Barnet v Halifax
Alty v Solihull
Still be another improvement for us!
