I think the point is that Brizle fans without a game could pop over. Some will, but not so man (less than 10). Often see fans of other clubs at Moss Lane, and when I had spare cash used to go to Vics or Celtic if we had no game.

the memories of Blyth will be fresh in the minds of the players and will be keen to avoid another no show against a lower league opposition.

Reeves with a hat-trick, 875 att. with 4 bristol fans, 3 scots killing time before sunday, 2 turtle doves and a peter cavanagh.....

Think that would disturb the team too much personally. Don't want the generally layout of the squad to be too unsettled.

Is Cav definitely out?  I still feel to this day that his absence v Blyth (as well as a number of other factors!) cost us dearly that day.
