Would having Rochdale and hartlepool or Harrogate come down, be better than more southern clubs from League 2? Likewise CHester and CHorley from CN.

40 + years too late....I wanna see Rochdale relegated. I'm still bitter !!!

Wise words.

Rochdale have been in my grudge bank since June 1980.

Perhaps it's just me but I really don't get the fascination with Kaja.

You just know that he is going to be substituted before the 60th-minute mark.

Really shouldn't be a better experience with replays at a game. Pointless getting in at gone midnight and soending £60 to have a better experience at home

It should be a one camera, no commentary and a simple stream.

Plus by attending in person you solely contributed to the funds of Chesterfield FC, whilst those of us who streamed the game as nominated Altrincham FC supporters did at least raise some revenue for our own club.

That's not really a situation which will encourage people to travel to away fixtures.

A battling defensive display, which largely kept them at arm's length, but you can't really argue with that outcome.

One lapse of concentration proved fatal, as James Jones lost his man at that corner.

Dinanga predictably fluffed his lines with that one glorious chance.

I'm afraid to say that a front three comprising Hulme, Dinanga and Kaja is simply National North standard.

We urgently need some new blood up front.

Had to be the case that Ryan's debut would be against us, didn't it.

Very much seeing this one as a 'free hit', if we can get something out of the game, that would be amazing.

Well, no it didn’t. We should’ve had the bollocks to insist that he didn’t play against us and if they didn’t agree we could have just been tardy about the admin and transferred him over on Jan 31st.

Correct

Not particularly conducive to building healthy relationships with our fellow clubs though, is it.

It's one game in the grand scheme of things.

What the actual f**k are you on about? Building relationships with other clubs? It’s completely immaterial.

Have you noticed that Chesterfield have put a clause in so that Michael Gyasi cannot play against them tonight? Like with Stockport, that’s a one sided relationship we can do without.

Why is everyone as soft as sh*te?

Although that said, no point wasting too much time on this until we see if Colclough actually lines up against us tonight…

Firstly, building relationships with clubs is exactly the reason why we have players like Chris Conn-Clarke come to us (to give just one example).

Secondly, I'm not sure what's hard to understand about the concept that Ryan Colclough is their player... and Michael Gyasi isn't ours. I've only ever known of a handful of occasions a loan player has played against their parent club (Lua Lua famously? Courtois against Chelsea because they didn't think about the Champions League?) - and it's usually been met with ridicule at the parent club for being so complacent.

There's only one person here spouting nonsense, and it certainly isn't me.

Some of us recall the mortifying nonsense of Alty allowing Leroy Chambers to play against us whilst he was on loan at Frickley Athletic, whereupon he duly scored two goals:

Incredibly, one of the few matches in the lower leagues that did go ahead was Buxton v Hereford. I bet there weren't any travelling fans.

No great surprise there:

Jennings: recalled by Stockport and now rumoured to be heading for Halifax;

Goodson: allowed to rejoin Boston United on loan for the remainder of the season;

Conn-Clarke: it's seemingly widely accepted that he will be back with Fleetwood Town at the end of this month.

So, that's potentially three individuals who won't be available for our forthcoming FA Trophy tie at Bracknell Town, leaving our squad for that competition looking somewhat threadbare.

Meanwhile, we've taken a defensive midfielder on loan from United (when we manifestly have more urgent vacancies to fill elsewhere on the pitch) and have signed a player on loan from Chesterfield who is cup-tied for the Bracknell fixture.

All this against an unsettling backdrop of reports that Grimsby Town have submitted a bid for Mullarkey.

I sincerely hope that some grand masterplan is afoot here and we willl be duly enlightened about it in the near future.

Our first Polish player since Konrad Kapler in the 1950s?
Wasn't he the baddie in Hitchcocks ' North by Northwest ' .

He played for us on the occasion of my first ever visit to Moss Lane. My Dad reckoned he was our star player - I may be wrong, but I think he may have later turned out for Celtic.

It's been quite a while since I've attended a match at the J Davidson Stadium which has started amidst snow flurries.

An entertaining game in light of the conditions. We had some excellent opportunities to have won far more convincingly and it did get rather unnecessarily jittery during those final 15 minutes or so.

Two sublime free kicks from CCC which Graham Heathcote in his late 1970s/early 1980s pomp would have been proud of.

Dinanga was once again deadly from five millimetres out.

Alas, Jordan Hulme still looks well out of sorts. Their second goal was initiated by him giving the ball away cheaply when undertaking some strange needless attempt at a 'scooped' pass.

Incidentally, I've just watched the Alty TV highlights and Matty Kosylo is a splendid and honest summariser.

A couple of bizarre and ineffective punches last night when it seemed far easier to have caught the ball.

I really do fear for us when Wrexham visit the JDS early next month and Ben Tozer is launching those Exocet missile long throws into the heart of the penalty area.

« on: January 18, 2023, 04:29:51 PM »

Boreham Wood's cup replay at Accrington tonight has been called off and it's not obvious when it'll be rearranged for - both teams have scheduled fixtures on Saturday and midweek next week. So I fear it may be played on R4 day, which is Saturday 28th when we're due to be at home to BW. Accrington don't have a game that day currently.

Now rescheduled for Tuesday, 24th January:

is these the team beginning with B that we won at on BT Sport under Lee Sinnott?
That was Bromley I think. Bracknell have never been in the GMVC.

I think it might have been Braintree. To many teams in the south beginning with B if you ask me.

No, as Mad Frankie said, it was definitely Bromley:

It will inevitably be Gateshead away.

Mind you, Dinanga is prolific against them...

Just once, wouldn't it be lovely to hear first about significant changes in the Altrincham FC boardroom via the club's own official website.

It's on the website

Indeed it is...but the operative word was 'first'.
