We don't normally have matches like this at the end of a season - not too many dead rubbers in the last 10 seasons.

Reminds me of  NPL matches at Skem, Kirkby, Morecambe etc in the 70s

what is your problem?

Yes, I am a massive Alty fan -Alty has been one of the most important parts of my life since I was 3 or 4 years old.  It shouldn't surprise you that there are people like me on the Alty forum.  where else would we be?

Job done against an obviously poor outfit.

Decent turnout and we had a laugh.

It was written that we had to concede a goal but Eastwood kept going to the end

Odd that they were much better organised steward wise than the league champions. Forgetting the corner flags was a bit of a schoolboy error. Watmore put in a good shift as did Leighton.

Game would have started that way if it hadnt been for some quick thinking Ecky letting the linesman know.

I'll be able to tell the grandkids that one.

"Liner, there's no corner flags"

ignored

"Seriously liner there are no corner flags"

glances over...and runs into the middle of the pitch.

I didnt expect Leighton would have been playing after his red card and ban - why was the ban not in force for last Sat, and does it carry forward into the 1st 2 games of next season or is the slate wiped clean at season end?

"Following his dismissal last Saturday, The FA confirms that for "Altrincham FC, Leighton McGivern (right) [from] 28/04/2012 [is] suspended from all football until the Club have completed 3 first team matches for a sending-off in a match played on 14/04/2012". "

In this league suspensions take effect 13 days after the offence, thus it only affects next Saturday's game. I don't know for definite, but am presuming that the remaining two games are carried forward to next season.
