doesn't really surprise me that, after some of the performances this season, that some fans have given up for a period, affecting our average attendance

We have lost two home games with reasonable travelling support, Southport & Morecambe, to be replaced with the likes of Farsley and Histon.

My feeling is that away supporter numbers have been down this year but the home support seems to have remained steady and if not gone up slightly?

Our points gain has been more sporadic this year. Last season we went on a few runs which tends to boost crowds for a few games after. Plus we've earned a hell of a lot out of away support since returning. Losing Morecambe and Southport was a big loss to the coffers.

Im still impressed by our averages given our form. I think it shows some hard work done by the club and fans to keep up interest. A pat on the back for everyone!

I think if you take out the Morecambe, Southport and especially the one-off-first-in-a-long-time Vics match our gates might very will have gone up a little!

But I am ever the optimist  ::)

I was just looking back on our quite succesful 1994-5 season, in the league were Stalybridge, Macclesfield, Southport, Runcorn and Northwich... and yet the average attendance was 1,057 !!

I am very confident that the gates were accurate in 1994-5.Whilst it was a good season we had quite a poor home record in the league....particularly before Christmas when we gained the majority of our points away from home.

We should be very pleased with our current home support...it is building slowly but surely...particularly in terms of younger fans.I think that we probably have a higher ratio of young supporters than we have ever had.

I can't remember exactly (I have £90,000 in my head for some reason) but whatever it was it was a ridiculous figure & well above £16,000!
It's strange isn't it but I am now quite fond of 'The Mausoleum' but I was horrified when I first saw it & for quite a long time after that!

Is it just an urban myth......or is Dave Furnivall really buried under 'The Mausoleum', where he lies in wait to answer Alty's call in a time of crisis as per King Arthur at Alderley Edge....?

P.S. I've just nudged you up to 100 Goodwins, Mister Flynn.
I can only presume that the 36 Peakes you have received can be attributed to a combination of your wife, various disgruntled Radio Manchester listeners and ex-Kettering Town manager Gary Johnson.
