ADAM FLYNN

Altrincham Fc announce that they have released defender Adam Flynn (right), who joined them over the summer of 2011. Adam's early period at Altrincham was blighted by injury, meaning that after starting three matches, he was unable to start any of the next eight league matches. He returned to the side and was captain for several games before he suffered an ankle injury in game 22 against Colwyn Bay. He did not appear in another game for Altrincham after that, though he was named on the bench five times. In all he made 15 appearances for Altrincham.
27 year-old Adam had been the Southport captain when they were promoted back to the Conference National level in 2010 but his work commitments, as Head Coach at Liverpool FC's International Football Academies, conflicted with his availability to play for the Port and he was transfer listed in November 2010.

Altrincham FC would like to thank Adam for his commitment and extends its best wishes to him for the future.

Bit harsh!

He was hardly in the Paul Jones / Karl Munroe school of poor centre backs!

Sure he is a nice man but he was pedestrian and overweight. Shame it didnt work out but no excuse for fat footballers I'm afraid at this level.

Didn't realise he was still here.

looked about 2 stone overweight and severely lacking pace.

Never seen someone wearing the captains armband look so uninterested.

Not only was Adam Flynn in the same school as Paul Jones, they used to sit right next to each other. Facing the corner, with big pointy hats on.

His finest moment for me was his brief tenure as a radio robins commentator. Dreadful player.

Ability/size aside - seemed a decent bloke and did a decent stint in the commentary box with his uncle. Good luck to him.

Surely his first appearance for the club at Harrogate Town back in August is a leading candidate in the 'Worst Alty Debut Of All-Time' category?

Concedes two penalties and contrives to get himself sent off, too.
Woeful.

He really did turn out to be a major disappointment.

And as regards his brief stint as a summariser on Radio Robins, he was not fit to lace George Heslop's boots....

As pleasant a chap as he seemed and I wish him well, surely the summary of his Alty career must be that he started like Cult says....then faded!!

Probably sums it up when you've got a young inexperienced right back filling in at centre half, the other one has just pulled another hamstring which will probably keep him out for the rest of the season more or less and we haven't kept a clean sheet for about a year and he's still surplus to requirements!

Strange isn't it ?

When we signed him he was a brilliant signing

During the Pre Seasons, again a brilliant signing

Now he's the crappest player we've ever had (a title which seems to be reallocated with amazing regularity)

He wouldn't have played badly on purpose, he wouldn't have been (arguably) too slow on purpose

Why can we not for once just thank a departing player for what he did rather than bombarding him with insults?
