I'll wait to see if we are going to play them and for our version of events if it becomes an issue.

Lets hope we don't have to play them then

Although it looks like we will

My view on this (for what it's worth) is that if you transfer a player it's because you feel he's not the best option for your team so why bother whether he plays against you or not.

HOWEVER in this case, we valued him very highly indeed and only agreed to the move to give him a shot at management so I think we're within our rights to ask him not to play.

HOWEVER (AGAIN!) what kind of a whinging bunch would we look complaining about this? It would very likely spur Guiseley on even more if we won the argument so let's just win the league and not worry about it:D

It's all abit odd anyway what could we do if he did play its not a loan signing like his contract it's not worth a wank

I'm 99% certain that the statement from AFC at the time he left specifically said he wouldn't be allowed to play against us in the play offs. I can't be arsed to trawl through the archives to verify it though.

The guy on there forum who thinks UEFA rules will apply is clearly bonkers.

If he and Guisely broke that agreement then it would be incredible and show him in a very poor light ( to put it mildly )

if his contract was not worth a wank what is any other type of agreement worth

It a serious business getting promoted

I think this issue has become a slow burner because there was no real candour about the nature of the deal at the time it was struck. I would assume that it was purely a gentleman's agreement that led to Boshell not playing in our game at Nethermoor - how could it be anything else given he's not our player anymore? - but even if it was discussed at the time of the transfer, I doubt Guiseley's gentlemanliness would extend to excluding Boshell from games as crucial as the play-offs.

Whether the club did the right thing in allowing Danny to leave is something that can be argued either way. He himself said at the time that the club could easily have insisted he honoured his contract. But the prospect of a Danny Boshell-inspired Guiseley beating Alty in the play-offs must be the Alty board's worst nightmare.

I am sure i recall he can play in the play offs.

However the game is 11 v 11 not 11 v 1.

Lets just get on with it and what will be will be.

At the end of the day Guisely will need beating with or without Boshell in there team.

Getting promoted should be our main concern, not whether he plays or not.

Oxford now - that's the only game that matters right now.
