Duncan is going to be impossible to replace and Lee now has a massive job to keep hold of reevesy and find him a new strike partner.

Bit of an overstatement here I think Dan.

Supremely talented as Duncan is we were by no means a one man team last season and I would be surprised if him leaving was to prove a catalyst for Reevesy departing if he wasn't already so doing.

Remember that he scored forty odd goals the season before last when not playing with Duncan every week

I think this increases  our need for a creative RM more than a direct replacement up front.  If Nicky wasn't on form and Dunc on the bench we really struggled to create much.  Early in the season(or was it last season?) Lawrie and Reeves up front worked quite well.

Well, as, almost certainly, the only Sunderland supporter who had (and lost) money on you to win the BSQN Play-Offs a few weeks ago, I hope young Duncan will be a winning long-term bet for SAFC.
Good Luck next season. I've followed Lee Sinnott's ups and mainly downs since his ill-fated arrival at Port Vale and I'm pleased he seems to have got his managerial career back on the rails.

I thought I would be gutted when Duncan eventually left us but actually I'm just really pleased for him that he's got such a good move. I'll definitely miss watching those dazzling runs but life goes on and it had to happen sooner or later.

Good luck Duncan, looking forward to seeing you on the telly giving Premier League defenders nightmares.

Another thread from Sunderland if anyone is interested: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=783566

Also, good to know that other teams have fans that are able to turn anything into a moan:

Brilliant. We have had one of our worst seasons in my time supporting Sunderland and the first signing is someone from the non-league. Not exactly encouraging.

my favourite one though:

Altringham look like a cracking team based on those highlights. The tenth goal in that goal of the season is a fantastic team effort. They seem to play lovely passing football. I always thing of non league as being hoof ball too.
