Scarborough on the way out!
« on: April 07, 2007, 12:22:17 PM »

Check it out on their website.
As far as I can make out, they're being wound up in 14 days unless someone comes up with 2 million. (Highly unlikely!)

What a sad end, if true.

I hope they survive, we have had some memorable matches against them over the years, especially in the trophy.

It would be very very sad. They have been worthy adversaries.

They may be able to do a Telford and come back smaller.

Yeah, hope Scarboro' make it.   Think you could argue this is one of our best performances of the season.  Going in there with big pressure.  They needed a result, we needed a result and boy, did we go out and do the business!   Don't think any Alty fan could have predicted we'd win 5-1!!  FANTASTIC performance and well done to the lads!   And how about our away form of late?   On to Gravesend and we can get something I'm sure.   Come on Alty!

"Non-League Scarborough are likely to be wound up at the end of the season - unless a deal saves them from closure.
The Conference North club have debts of over £2m and administrators are petitioning to force the club to close.

Boro face a compulsory winding-up order because their voluntary agreement with creditors appears to have failed"

Great shame

It would be a sad day when Scabby go under. Suppose this really does mean we won't be getting another penny of the Paul Ellender money now!
