Not going to get into the argument SW over trains,just to say our chairman wants the railway to be a 24 hr 7 day aweek 365 days a year,bet he will not be working those days though.

I sympathise. I used to work for Safeway where they would expect us to do the most rediculous hours over Christmas etc for a significantly less amount of money than the board sitting snuggly at home with their finest Cognacs and malts - It's probably the same with lots of companies.

I believe we're the only wealthy country to not have public transport on xmas day/boxing day. In Germany everything runs 365 days a year, trains/buses/tubes, all through the night in major cities. These are essential services - do you see hospitals closing for Christmas?
