I would expect that Owens will realistically only play a bit part in today's fixture as he doesn't seem to have played since 24th October and has missed the last 3 league matches for Stafford. Hopefully this may be a new opportunity for him to impress at a new club and so he should seize that chance with both hands.

I wish him good luck at Alty.

Yes, good luck and welcome to Altrincham FC.

If the father/son magic works like it did with Shaun Densmore we could be onto a good thing here.

If he's anything like his dad (As with Shaun and Peter D) that'll do for me!

Always preferred Mal Bailey, personally.

Without wishing to offend anyone... John Owens was the Bobby Moore of Alty.  Cultured player, not the quickest but great timing.
Mal Bailey was a different kettle of fish... tough but had to work much harder than JO. Both great in their own way.

Both true legends.
