Chester saga not over yet
« on: November 12, 2009, 10:48:22 AM »

If this article is to believed, we may not be playing at Chester after all.

http://www.chesterchronicle.co.uk/chester-city-fc/chester-city-fc-news/2009/11/12/chester-city-fc-fa-consider-whether-stephen-vaughan-is-fit-and-proper-to-own-chester-city-59067-25147734/

I don't think Vaughan can argue that he has no control over the club when one of his sons is (nominally) in charge!!
This is the clearest indication yet that the end may be in sight.

He owns the club, therefore he can always have the final say on decisions

There is no way of proving that he has control over the club, therefore due to being innocent until proven guilty you have to accept that he does not have control.

And technichally he does not own the club so he is fine on that score too. The FA can consider his fit and properness all the like, they, teh football league and the conference made their biggest faux pax when bottling it at the start of the season with Chester. It's too late now.

He owns 100% of the clubs shares.
Personally I would say that makes him the owner.

If they were a dog you'd have put them down by now.

I agree it would but I read that and disregarded it as inaccurate as I'm sure he transferred all his shares over to Stephen Vaughan Jnr in the summer.

I don't want to argue or piss anybody off, and we're probably arguing over technicalities, but I am sure he still owns the club.

Chester fans don't know what the hell the situation is so I don't think we're gonna guess our way to it!!!

Oh I agree with you, he absolutely does own the club and run it completely. You know it, I know it and to be honest everyone in the world knows it. Proving it techincally is slightly harder though.

The twohundredpercentwebsite summed Vaughan up to a tee earlier.

'it doesn’t seem unreasonable to hold the opinion that Vaughan will continue in much the way that his history would seem to indicate that he will – staying just on the right side of the letter of the law most of the time, transgressing the spirit of it considerably more often, but occasionally straying the wrong side of it.'

Or, dare I suggest (allegedly), going over to the wrong side of the law but covering it up well?

According to the BBC, Chester have revcieved a further 2 week extension to pay Wrexham and Vauxhall Motors. New "Deadline" is 30 November.

I'll be able to pop down the Deva to see the mighty Robins there one last time (at least!)  ::)
