i picked up standing tickets upto 1112 last night
Was informed by the lovely ticket lady that we had sold around 1500, including standing and seated.
But Millwall, after their home game to Swansea, had only sold 250 tickets !!!!!!
Heading for a nightmare gate??!!?! What with a heavy policing bill i really hope we still stand to make a bit of money from the game.
All we can hope for is we do get a result and look to the next round, financially anyway
-
Its really annoying seeing such low figures, I am bringing 5 extra people to the game and everyone I speak to says they are going and bringing friends but yet we have only sold 1100 standing?? ??? Just hope there's a mad rush on Friday and loads dont get turned away on the day. :(
I will be horrified if we haven’t got a piece in the MEN and Metro explaining the ticket situation today!

If this rain continues the game could be postponed.

Messenger headline!
"TOWN ON EDGE FOR FA CLASH"

I would be very surprised if the game was called off due to the rain! 3 or 4 seasons ago then i'd be worried but at present we have one of the best playing surfaces in the league that has withstood rain alot worse than we're experienceing at present.
-
Thats a really helpful headline !!
-
Messenger headline!
"TOWN ON EDGE FOR FA CLASH"
Is that a joke?
I thought we'd got over worst of it, we'll be lucky to breach 2,000 if this is bloody true?

No, alas, it's all over the front page of the Messenger.
Truly pathetic.
Bring back Mike Crockett!

It might aswell have been
"Only go to the Altrincham match if you are a complete loon and after trouble"
>:(

idiots i work next door to the alty messenger office i might pop in and give the editor a peice of mind,
gettin the paperboy's to ditch their round in stamford park as we speak
-
Thanks for nothing Mr Messenger Editor.
If it passes off without a murmour can next weeks headline be
"Local Paper Scaremongering hits Robins Big Day"
Absolutely stupid.
At this rate there will be more stewards and police than fans.
-
Yes, so much for a pay-day. We could end up making a loss here.
-
Ecky you'll be more the wiser on the financial side of it ........... is it looking bleak to make a decent sum??? As someone who wouldnt have a clue how it works i'd still say that after the policing bill, losing bar sales, low gates, and apart from some television money we're gonna struggle ....... bigtime!!
please tell me im wrong!!
Who thinks the Millwall draw was a good draw now then cos i dont !!!
-
The bits I know is that we only have to pay for the police in the ground, any outside the ground are not paid for. Obviously our fantastic stewards work for nowt but the same will not be said of any other clubs stewards if we have got them in.
I reckon our saving grace is the MOTD money which will probably cover additonal costs. Worth noting though that the gate is split after all these costs so in a way Millwall do have to pay half of them.
Its all necessary costs of course though to ensure a safe day for all.
What saddens me is that the club have spent this money to do there best to make it safe and then police have paniced all the pubs, tesco's have paniced, our floating fans with kids have been put off, probably some floating Millwall fans will not want to be herded around like animals.
And then in case anyone hadn't been paniced so far, the Messenger sticks it on the front page.
-
Panic on the streets of Altrincham! ;D

Panic on the streets of Altrincham! ;D
...Timperley, Bowdon, Hale Barns.
I wonder to myself.
Burn down the Golf Road.

Heaven knows I'm miserable now!!!

An absolute disgrace and no help what so ever for us. Surely the local rag should be supporting our big day instead of scaremongering. Its bad enough that its going to be extreemly hard to get a drink before the match.
Im worried about the ticket sales too. depending on millwall, weve only flogged 1500 tickets. Darlington was 3302.
Against northwich and aldershot we hit over 2000. Maybe the all ticket hasnt really sunk in yet - there may be many unhappy fans before the game
There seems also to be a lot less commotion, press and general interest in the FA cup this year.
-
lets hope people have waited around till tommorow :-\

regarding the messenger. I've just read the article on the front. It tells you too turn to page seven to continue reading the article and theres nothing on page 7. Its on page 5. TINPOT!!
-
Do you know what will make all this worse.....I bet Tesco's will open.
My Mum rang me last night to check I'll be OK on Saturday as "they are shutting Tescos' according to the paper, they must be bad supporters"
All the work that Connor Murphy has put into the back pages has been made pointless by the front page.
-
Of course they will Mark, they are profit mad, Even when we had the flash flooding down here in July New Malden Tesco remained open with half the car park flooded and 4" of water sloshing around some of the aisles!
