I'm quite convinced Heathcote is managing the team whilst acting as puppet master to Doherty and Lawton. Note how our defending at corners has returned to everyone back, a famous old Heathcote trait, rather than leaving 2 or 3 up we've been employing this season. Did us a lot of good against Fake United on Monday!

Very bemused by Matt Doughty being given the caretaker job btw. In his 2 spells as assistant manager under 2 different manager we've failed miserably!

See above!

Sorry Cult,we posted at similar times and I failed to read yours before clicking post.

No problem.

I'm just amazed that this board hasn't brought Tolson back....

Careful Barry, there's time yet!

I've heard this rumour at the games and from what I heard the fella is Dominic McGuiness from Talksport, along with a group who are prepared to put money in. Apparently approached the Chairman on three occasions but have been turned down on each occasion. I've absolutely no idea if this rumour is true or not.

What surprised me, after seeing the forecast yesterday morning for tonight, that we didn't try to switch the game to Wednesday.

You were all over the Board at the AGM, even slagging off the Forum for criticising the Board

Check the user name......not what it seems!

Before my time, but Jackie Swindells would be my first pick. His goal scoring record in the mid 60's is phenomenal - 82 goals in his first full season at Alty.

Would love to see him as his peak, playing upfront with Reeves.  Obviously we'd still concede loads of goals but could always win few games 5-4

Jackie was a bit of a poacher though I understand.

So we'd probably stick him on the bench for 3 months...

Definitely a poacher Ballers.....and a great finisher. But these days his lack of pace would have blunted him.
Sadly I don't think Jackie would have even made it as far as playing for Alty in the modern game and was certainly "of his time", however a superb player and his 6 goals in the Cheshire League Championship clinching game at Chester is something I'll never forget.

I know many on here will find this unbelievable but I propose Kyle Perry!

In my belief getting rid of Kyle was the start of our continuing downfall. From what I'd heard he was fantastic in the dressing room and was a big (no pun intended) factor in the superb team spirit we had a couple of years or so ago.

What compounded it even more was Sinnott signing that w@nker Rankine, who I think destroyed the team spirit within the first month or so of last season and which we've never recovered and is so alarmingly lacking with this team.

I wouldn't actually be against re-signing him now.....Reevesy worked well off him and I'm sure he would offer more than Hobson and Marsh. We can also reunite the Stubblemelt two next year when Masha gets released....hopefully he'll have spent his time in the gym getting fit and would be a superb centre back in the glue league.

Will give us some idea as to what we'll be facing next season. Don't fancy our chances.

Altrincham FC First Team / What's the point

All this money being spunked on Salford, hardly any noise from them today and it's gone 10:30pm yet there's nothing on their fans forum about the game and only the score makes it onto their website. Makes it even more frustrating to see us struggling so much and pointless exercises like Salford progress.

Can't honestly see us winning another game this season. 2400 in there today and it sounded like a morgue, it looks like everyone is resigned to relegation and I think the players know it, and accept it, too.

8th for International call ups

So how many Lincoln and Altrincham players are likely to be called up for international duty then ?

I believe Lincoln have had four players called up for the England C team.....we haven't had any selected!!

Can't say they're over the moon about the signing! Hard not to think about how different the reaction would have been on this forum had he signed compared to theirs. I'm sure Nicky will get use to the gentle ripple of applause when he lays on a goal!

Obeng is a 5' 8" right back who was in the same Man City youth team as Daniel Sturbridge,Micah Richards,Ben Mee etc. Anyone know what type of midfielder Lenighan is?

As he was in that youth team hopefully he'll have some ideas on keeping James Poole quiet next weekend then! Great to see the reaction on here regarding Lenighan. As I said earlier, Harrogate forum went into total meltdown when there was talk of signing him so let's hope their loss is our gain.

Thought I'd recognised the name of the second player....remember someone's forum (think it was Harrogate) going apesh*t about them signing a while ago!

Massive miss not getting Nicky back, certainly his signature was there on a plate for us but we blew it. As they used to say at the start of Shameless, "the truth is out there". Expect Nicky to come back here with Harrogate and tear us a new one!
