Morecambe sign Jack Redshaw from Altrincham
Morecambe have signed former Manchester City and Rochdale striker Jack Redshaw from Altrincham on an 18-month contract in an undisclosed deal.

The 21-year-old impressed while on trial, scoring twice for the Shrimps reserves in a 4-1 win over Tranmere.

Morecambe manager Jim Bentley told the club website: "Jack is a player with great potential.

"He may only be small but he is strong and quick and has a real eye for goal. He is definitely one for the future."

Predictable I suppose, once a league club comes sniffing round, I guess our chances of retaining him diminished.

Hopefully Jim Bentley will have it in him to loan him back for the rest of the season!!

That 2 strikers Morecambe have signed in the past week...

Good luck for the future Jack

Good luck to him.

He clearly has the ambition and the skill to be an asset for whichever club he plays for.

Will be sorry to see him go.

"He is definitely one for the future."

Could that be a glimmer of hope for the loan deal that has been rumoured?

Good luck either way Jack, been a pleasure watching you if you don't play again.

A shame to lose him, but we knew the score when he joined - he wanted to get to a league club. What Lee and the team can boast about is that they have done a great job in super quick time!

Good luck to Jack, I'm sure he'll do well.

Good luck Jack, I'm gutted to lose a player that's shown so much promise but the lad has been straight up with us from day one.

The door is always open for you at Alty.

Does that mean we might have got something, or am I being over optimistic?

I don't think they paid us, since jack wasn't contracted, I think undisclosed is referring to how much they're paying him

Best wishes to Jack at Morecambe, he deserves the chance of full time footy which I am sure he will take. We cant complain as even in his short time with us he made a valuable contribution at Alty. He will be missed.

It would be wonderful if he was able to come back on loan, but I wont hold my breath. I'm sure his Dad and Uncle will keep in touch with us with how he progresses at Morecambe.

Credit too for Lee Sinnott for having faith in him, lets hope Lee can find another gem now from somewhere ;)

I am really pleased for Jack and sad fo Alty. We find and develop a good player and he moves on, under the old ways we would have made money.

Again we miss out due to the Boards failure to commit by contracting players. Surely this is not the way to success?

He wouldn't have signed for us at all if we'd insisted he contract himself for a lengthy period.

Christ alive. The board have a pretty thankless task when people come out with stuff like this.

All the best for the future, Jack. I'm sure you'll have a good FL career.
