Hopefully Parky continues with Donowa at RB.
I said at the start of the season, having both Justin's on the same side would be frighting for teams.
Their pace would cause any team problems.
He also defended very well.
You and me both mate, although it's clear we'd all started to get so conditioned by Parky's handbrake so far this season that most of us defaulted to Banks at right back in our suggested XI's, and not Donawa. I'm sure most of us were delighted at 2pm when it was clear we were going for it.
I know it's been suggested that Justin Amaluzor play on the left but I think that's why he needs to continue on the right, as defenders won't know whether to cover the cut inside or the overlap.
Alex Newby could potentially solve a few different issues - firstly with what he brings himself, but also the fact we don't have to consider Donawa in the forward positions - even more so once Kossy is back - and then lastly it was his brother's arrival that spurred Cricky's spectacular upturn in form last season. Given their (genetic!) similarities he could well do the same.
Parky was completely right to experiment with systems once it was clear we were practically safe last season - but the crucial part of an experiment is to conclude if something DOESN'T work, and not to persist until it does - especially now we're well into the next season.
We need to:
- return to a back four (if we're really greedy, find a top class right footed CB);
- return to attacking full backs that has served Parky sides so well;
- start the same team every week (and rest players when they're actually tired);
- stop players getting ao tired in the first place by using subs earlier.
As Shankley once said, football is a simple game overcomplicated by idiots...
