BBC reports that Barcelona were unable to pay their players at the end of June. Apparently a loan of £125 MILLION was secured to achieve late payment.

A Barcelona spokesman blames "liquidity problems" but assures us that they can still afford to buy Cesc Fabregas.

I truly despair.

The first thing I thought of when I read about that this morning, exactly how you have put it,  was "how very Conference"
