Altrincham FC First Team / Re: JJ going to Chester

Don’t believe a word coming from that Twitter account. Linked us with a few players last season, Jordan was apparently nailed on to join Chester etc etc...none of which happened. It’s all click bait, aimed I’m sure at unsettling Clubs.

Disappointed to see people falling for it tbh, one of the many downsides of social media.

It is what it is..."Tittle Tattle"... and it has to be admitted that they have got it wrong on plenty of occasions.  However, a few times they have been correct and I just have a gut feeling that there might be something behind this particular rumour.  I do hope that I am wrong and I will happily admit that I was mugged off if that is indeed the case.

I think this might be true.  Same twitter account has us in talks with Fylde for Matt Kosylo.  He used to be at Nantwich... Ahem! and from what I can see he looks class.

I am not sure I ever need to go back there.

My thoughts exactly.  I thought that I must have entered a potential subject for an episode of 'Abandoned Engineering'.  Everyone attending the game was housed in the same stand on the West side of the stadium and it made it appear as if the venue was empty.   The large deserted looking East stand is missing it's roof covering but still has the twisted skeletal remains of the metal frame that used to hold it up exposed.  The running track around the pitch has seen better days and there were puddles of standing water everywhere.  There was also a big dirty looking tarpaulin sheet stretched out across the ground below where we were sat for some unknown reason and whilst many of the seats looked to have been quite recently replaced, many of them were covered with seagull sh*t.  Incidentally, It was also bloody freezing!

'Its grim up north'... as it happens grim is a good word to describe our performance.  Best leave it at that.

Altrincham FC First Team / Redevelopment of the ground
« on: January 15, 2020, 02:42:05 PM »
I see that a presentation of architect's plans for the redevelopment of the ground at Moss Lane is on the agenda for the 'Meet the Manager, Meet the Board' meeting on 24/01/2020.  I am really excited about this but hope that the character of the ground is to be retained on the whole and I also worry a bit that I may not live long enough to see the '10 year plan' reach its conclusion!

Pompey Paul,

It is good to see you still paying an interest in our great little club.  Does this mean that we have become your 'other' team.  My guess is that you are following our results quite fervently and probably keeping up to speed with happenings via the club website(s).  Perhaps you might even consider attending a game at Alty if you ever find yourself within the environs?  I am sure a warm welcome would greet you.

Congratulations to those who predicted a draw (not altogether a surprise really given that this seems to be the default result setting whenever we meet Guiseley).  However, nice to see that most fans still backed Alty to win and it's good to see so much optimism surrounding the team.

Looks like a tricky one on paper.  They are unbeaten for five games on the road including wins at York, Farsley and Gateshead.  However, Curzon had a reasonable run of results before we played them and had recent wins against York and Chester to their credit.  Leamington were four unbeaten at home.  We beat both of them a lot easier then the narrow scorelines suggest.

Alty 2 - 0 Guiseley

Only 12 out on the attendance - good call !

Shame my score prediction wasn't close too!   :(

Some links to fan’s forums from NLN.  These are the ones that I could find easily.  Some clubs don’t appear to have fan’s forums and I also guess I may have missed one or two.  Feel  free to add to the list if you can.
Incidentally, there is an amusing exchange of ‘points of view’ between Guiseley and Chester fans following their recent game on the Guiseley board.  The exchange ends with a Guiseley fan saying
“if only they could be more like Alty, now that’s a proper club”.
