Best formation for Saturday
« on: November 20, 2009, 09:11:18 AM »

What do people think would be the best formation for Saturday.

Chester have to win the game, they have lost two of their best players, one of whom was a defender. Hopefully we shall have a large away following, although the weather forecast may put a few people off, so let's play the 4-3-3 we played against Forest Green and really go for it.
A draw is no good for Chester so they will have to take risks and leave gaps if the game doesn't go their way.

Let's see a few goals for Alty this weekend.

COME ON ALTY!!

Looks like Chris Denham may not be fit due to flu (from main website).

That reduces our options a bit so if we did it would :-

Senior      Little        Burns

Little and Senior were linking up well in the first half last week. Burns looked most dangerous when running at his man then whipping crosses in from right on the touchline. I think our injuries/suspensions/illnesses limit our options to 4-3-3 with those three up top, or 4-4-2 with someone playing out of position.

I dont think he is fit, he apparently tripped over a daisy (not THE Daisy) in the local park on Wednesday night.

Playing 3 strikers would be good but surely its a bit disrespectful towards Chester to not even bother with a keeper, defense and midfield?

Yes but if we are losing we can then void the game due to not having enough players on the field of play.

How good to see GH has signed a big striker...  I hope he gets to play some part in the game tomorrow..

All I ask is if the lad comes on tomorrow lets not slag him off on here if he doesnt perform that well in his first game.

He wont know the Alty lads or system..
He has been playing in a couple of leagues lower than the BSP..
He is obviously going to be nervous making his debut.

Personally I am well chuffed we now have someone who is taller than 5' 10 up front.

Good luck to the lad and the rest of the team and  lets get back to our winning ways..

Cmon Alty.

I can not believe that this is a conicidence. I suspect that there was perhaps some inside information known here. My real name is "Hercule Poirot"

Would be nice a to see 3-4-3 again, but think GH might go with 4-4-2

                    Coburn

Pearson       Williams    Young       Doughty

Densmore    Lawton    Danylyk        Burns

                        Little  Senior

Subs: Clee, Welch, McAliskey, Saunders, Owens

I originally put Clee back on the left, but thought Burns did so well there last week that should see what he can do. And main reason not put McAliskey in is the keep the balance in midfield (ie make sure Lawton isn't on the right)
