Ok, this might be rathe controversial and I am sure most will disagree but......
As much as Robbie has been a good captain and always gives his all, I am concerned about his ability to lead a side if he is playing a position that he is relatively unfamiliar to. In my opinion it would be beneficial to Robbie and the team if he was allowed to focus on the job at hand (concentrating on his role at rightback), without the burden of skippering the side or worrying too much what other players in the team are doing. It is also worth baring in mind that out on the flank he will struggle to have his his presence felt and be as influential a captain as he would be playing more central.
Although stripping the captaincy of anyone can cause lows in team moral, I would see Paul Jones as the perfect replacement to captain for the team: Commanding, composed, experienced and a great influence on the team from centreback.

armband or not.. they can all be leaders! it makes no difference

I can see where you're coming from, but Robbie Lawton has to be captain for me, just for his sheer passion for the club and you can always hear him from the terraces screaming at the players and keeping everyone going. Robbie Lawton wins the armband every time for me! And like Toppers said, they can still be leaders without the armband.

As far as the captaincy is concerned "it ain't broke, so don't mend it."

:) Agreed

Leave it as it is Robbie dose a gr8 job

Cannot see any need for a change as it stands, but agree Jonah would appear to be a good call.....did Flynn captain Scouseport ?............for now though I would prefer to trust our management team to get it right and to let them decide

Robbie for me - the bloke wears his heart on his sleeve

Lawton's the best off the ball player we have, the best organiser and the most vocal. May aswell leave it as it is, but Jones would the ideal replacement.

A captain isn't just on the pitch
It's about firing them up before the game, half time and being able to pick them up after a defeat
They should set an example for the test in terms of spirit and effort
A captain needs to give 100% week in week out
-
Lawton. No argument needed.

Quite right. That's why Lawton gets my vote.

I'll never forget the last game of last season against Eastbourne, and our keeper let in the softest goal I've ever seen after Alty were doing so well to pile the pressure on at the other end. Lawton looked devastated and it was then I realised how much being an Altrincham player meant to him. After Tinson left, Lawton was the only one and he should be given the chance to captain the side in this new season.

Agreed, much of what goes on with captains we do not see, aside from what is on the pitch. Robbie is inspirational to the side, and lives and breathes the club like so may of us do. It's in our blood.
For me it should be Lawton as captain and Paul Jones as vice. I do like Robbie as a right-back currently, by the way, I hope he does to!
