How come we get a bye, but Crewe and Chester, for example, are in the hat?

They draw out of the same bag to decide who gets the byes, it's based on luck of the draw rather than any science or reasoning

Or, better still, say "bye-bye" to the whole competition?    :)

I've always liked the CSC but after the farcical team selection of last year at Northwich I'll be giving it a swerve this year for the first tine ever.

Trouble is you need to take part in this competition to take part in the FA Cup.

In effect, to take part in any recognised competition you have to be affiliated to a County FA & one of the conditions of affiliation is taking part in the appropriate County FA's competition(s), so Cheshire have us over a barrel as far as the Senior Cup is concerned. Withdrawing from the competition is simply not an option.

It's not much of an inconvenience anyway we only play 1 game select few if any first team players who don't get injured because we don't put in any effort be better play it pre season

I wasn't suggesting we boycot the competition, rather that the whole sorry affair be discontinued. I'm sure it can't be and it won't be, but it's just the way I feel about it.

I have always thought this would be an excellent pres season friendly competition...otherwise play the kids and take the fine.

Pre season wouldnt work. Only one club is in a higher division than us right now, a lot of the teams are far lower down the pyramid. You are risking using up most if not all of a pre season schedule for games where the opposition would not necessarily be the right test and the crowds would be even worse.
