Halifax have lost 1-0.

I think it was lost in the hysteria of Saturday that BS are a fit and well organised side...

Well, I wouldn't go quite so far as to describe Sappleton as fit but he certainly gave an object lesson in being a lone target man and shielding the ball that our own beloved Michael Twiss could do with emulating.

Droylsden attendance tonight: 170

Dave Pace must seriously wonder why he bothers.

if we ever got 170 at home for a league match, i'd shut the doors myself.

i bet dale johnson must be getting a massive buzz off that crowd.

Casting my mind back to the Unibond season 97/98 season, didn't we start to have below 500 crowds for some league matches?  Seem to recall Gerry Berman having some strong views about this.

Saying that we did have Nathan Comley-Excell to provide our fire power at the time  ;)

Yep. Or directors who underwrite the losses. Read floodlit dreams by Ian ridley, lots of tales of how football is run at this level.

Our first Unibond season (before we started splashing the cash late on in 97-98 and then all the next season) 700 at home was actually a pretty large gate. It was around 620ish average that season. I'd say the club has picked up maybe 50-100 on it's hardcore from the late 90s.

Dark days those Unibond years. Imperative we don't stay at this level for any longer than absolutely necessary. Imperative.
