Tv highlights

After the discussion on here the other day about channel M not being able to show match highlights.I was just wondering if weve been back to bbc and granada offering them a copy of our weekley highlights? Last year when they showed the welch goal they needed permission off setanta, but seeing as the game is filmed anyway,it would be interesting to see if they wanted them each week for their highlights roundups, even if not for a fee,but to raise the clubs profile amongst the greater manchester populous?????

It is unlikely that the BBC & Granada would take them every week, but it's worth asking the question if they would be interested for notable performances....particularly as we are currently in touch with the play-off positions. The general issue is a simple one...we are in the largest regional football hotbed in Europe...possibly the world. In terms of the pecking order, as far as BBC Radio Manchester is concerned, we come after:-

Manchester United
Manchester City
Bolton Wanderers
Wigan Athletic
Oldham Athletic
Stockport County
Rochdale
Bury
Macclesfield Town

& as far as Regional TV is concerned you can add:-

Liverpool
Everton
Blackburn Rovers
Burnley
Preston North End
Blackpool
Tranmere Rovers
Accrington Stanley

Therefore, from Look North's & Granada Reports' perspective, there are 17 clubs ahead of Altrincham. Their Sports Bulletins last roughly between 3-5 minutes & of course they are going to concentrate on the world's most famous club & the world's richest club...........&  Manchester United will be hoping for a look-in as well.

As previously stated though,it is worth us asking the question!

So, do we have anyone who could edit up the highlights and put a weekly 20 min package together and hand it to Channel M?

Im sure they would accept if they just had to broadcast it?

Well, maybe we can replace Accrington on this list!
