Not seen him play, so won't direct any frustration his way, however NY has gone on record saying we don't have a recognised centre back with experience at this level, and then signs an academy player on loan with seemingly no real experience at this level.

If you're Sam Heathcote, what are you thinking right now?

Why are we giving experience to an 18 centre back , when we have our own 18 year old centre back that requires it. Some very strange goings on at this club under Neil Young.

Do you think NY likes Lottery  scratch cards - keeps buying them and frantically scratching the foil off to see if he has a winner and then realising - sh!t - another one I didnt win !

NY clearly doesnt think Sam is ready yet for senior football. This lad Moran (who is 19 btw) spent the entire season last year at Nantwich where he did extremely well I believe.
If he isnt any better than Sam then Sam will be entitled to feel very pissed off.

If he doesn't think he's ready for senior football then he should be with the youth team. If he doesn't think he's ready for Conf North football then he should be loaned out. If he doesn't think he's good enough full stop then he should release him and bring in someone who he thinks is good enough.

At risk of stating the obvious - Sam H is a contracted player until the end of this season as far as I am aware. If he weren't, I suspect this management would not have him on the books - as I suspect might be the case with those other players in a similar position. I hope Sam won't be disheartened, but would understand if he were ...

I agree.
However, NY has decided to give Sam a chance and taken time to assess how he is developing.
My guess would be that Sam will be loaned out once Tom is fit again unless other injuries force him to be kept as back up while he works with him at improving his game.

One can only wonder about the mental state of the ones who were kept on or on contract they are probably wishing that they got the phone call to bugger off
