Altrincham FC First Team / Re: News..

As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, he is completely unproven at this level, so I'm not expecting miracles, but it will be interesting to see how he does for the remaining part of the season, and then maybe go for someone more experienced at this level, if required and if finances allow.

Not sure if it's still 10 days isolation in Wales, so our game does look very doubtful, though still on at the moment according to Wrexham.

Been announced this afternoon, that Wrexham's game v Solihull Moors is off on Boxing Day because of a covid outbreak in the Wrexham squad, so guess have to wait and see whether our game goes ahead on 28th

Altrincham FC First Team / Nice Touch

I received a Christmas card from the club, which I presume is being sent to all the season card holders. Thought that was a nice touch from the club. Cheers.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Southend Match Thread

Bit surprised how ineffectual Ben Pringle was in the first half, and not sure he could be too surprised at being taken off. Obviously a very decent player, but you wonder how many starts he's going to have and you feel he's got to make the most of any he does, otherwise he will stay being an impact sub for most of the season. Personally I thought you could have taken off either Whitehead or Porter at half time, given I didn't think either really imposed themselves enough, and it needed the introduction of Moult for us to take control of the game in the 2nd half. Thought Senior had an excellent game and good to see Hampson as well. Fitness issues aside, its surprising that the players of the quality of Hancock and Mooney start on the bench. As for Southend thought they were an average team who took their chances in the 1st half and didn't do alot in the 2nd, apart from finding ways to waste time, helped by a referee who was as lenient, in this respect, as they come.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: SOUTHEND TICKETS SOLD OUT
« on: November 25, 2021, 03:49:30 PM »
It is disappointing the communication from the club is abit haphazard. It was a great detailed statement released last Friday, but nothing since,  not even just a brief one to say the capacity for the Southend game is still to be decided. The Southend tickets went back on sale, but then were pulled. Are they going back on sale or will the capacity be limited to who has got a ticket already. As already mentioned you have to factor in season ticket holders which wasn't the case for the Gateshead game and also Southend will have a bigger away support. The statement also mentioned the opportunity to question the board tomorrow, is this going ahead? All these ground issues, which seems to have come out of the blue, can't be easy for the club to resolve to the satisfaction of the council, but maybe a more regular update to the fans would help.

Don't think action by the club and police would be a bad thing, in that the next time there's a TV game, others may look at going that one bit further. Knowing there would be consequences, may stop this and the fact there is a named individual who may or may not be the invader, even for GMP, it wouldn't be taking up too much time to do a little investigation work!

Anyone know if the club are going to take action against him, including involving the police?

Would be hard for them to say no, if the opportunity came along. Gutted if they went but understandable.

As of a  couple of years ago, the home team got £6000 and the away team £2000. Not sure if this season is still part of the same TV deal re these payments.

I can see why the club have gven some of the popside to GT fans, though always disappointing to lose that corner, if it reduces the risk of GT fans in the home end, though I assume there was always going to be a police presence anyway?

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: 2021/22 Season Ticket Discount
« on: May 31, 2021, 11:47:45 AM »
Yes in past seasons there has been a reduction of usually £10, if season tickets are purchased before a specific date.
As to whether a 10% discount can be considered a substantial discount, that of course is purely subjective, I was personally expecting at least a 25% discount, to reflect we bought a season ticket last year at a time of great uncertainty, for a cost of £295.00, which may well go over £300 for next season.  This is not an insubstantial amount of money, and of course no-one can be sure that we will be able to go to every home game next season.

Altrincham FC First Team / 2021/22 Season Ticket Discount
« on: May 31, 2021, 10:52:20 AM »
2020/21 Season ticket holders received an email yesterday, advising that there would be a 10% reduction  on the price of a season ticket for next season.
An email was sent out on 9th March where it was stated the club would be offering a substantial discount on the cost of a season ticket for next season, for anyone who had bought one for this season. The club wouldn't have known, at that point, how many games fans would be able to attend before the end of this season, and we were fortunate to see three, but have to be honest I was expecting more than 10%. Any thoughts from other season ticket holders?

I believe Eastleigh travelled up yesterday and were staying at Hotel Football last night, so I think they would be a bit miffed having to travel up again mid week if it got called off, especially when we have previously moved home games to FC United.

Given the forecast tomorrow, there must be a chance the pitch may not be playable, anyone know if there are any contingency plans to move it to FC United?
