Altrincham FC First Team / Level playing field
« on: February 26, 2009, 09:10:54 AM »
Whilst we're on the subject of Weymouth and Northwich, overspending etc I thought....

IF !! (it probably never will) the BSP was a level playing field and clubs spent only what they could afford, (transfers of players etc) and the teams that are in such dire mess were more prudent and realistic, where exactly would that leave Alty ?

If this seasons current achievements are anything to go by, we could probably well be in the play-offs, BUT we sure as hell are not ready for promotion to league 2, we probably wouldnt be able to stay part time neither. So where would that leave us, would we be able to say thanks but no thanks and continue in the BSP ?

Shaun Densmore told the NLP.... from Altrinchamfc.com

Whilst Shaun was at Everton, Shaun says that he "was told by the coaches I was close to breaking through" into the first team. He added, after leaving Goodison, "I went to Bradford City in pre-season and got an injury which messed everything up. I missed two months of the summer and my dad asked Altrincham manager Graham Heathcote, who he used to play with, if I could go and train and get my fitness back. I went to Alty, played a couple of friendlies and a cup game and that's when they offered me the chance to stay. I was made up... Hopefully, if I keep doing well I'll get another crack at the League. I'm only 20, so there's plenty of time. Besides, if we can add to our squad and build on what we've done this year, then maybe we can go for promotion". As for playing for England, he said, "My dad loved this team. he played for them twice". The NLP adds that in his debut in Malta, Shaun "grasped his chance. From right-back, he was a ball of energy, fizzing forward at every oportunity, steaming into tackles and visibly impressing [manager] Fairclough. Shaun even scored a goal and said "That'll shut my dad up. He might have played for England, but he never scored"!.

Oo Err !!  ;D

Altrincham FC First Team / Congratulations Shaun Densmore...

From altrinchamfc.com

Though he missed last night's win over Northwich through suspension, Alty's midfielder Shaun Densmore has reasons to be happy today. He has been called up to the "Contingency Squad" for the England C squad, (the former semi-pro side), for their match against Malta on February 17th.

My congratulations are through gritted teeth, as was mentioned previously, it favours us not one bit and will probably be inevitible he leaves in summer  >:(

Im very selfish !

Altrincham FC First Team / Anthony Danylyk's Injury
« on: December 28, 2008, 07:58:59 PM »
Spoke to a First aider whilst getting in my car and he said that Danylyk was still being looked at by doctor. He didn't think that there had been a break. I really hope so.

Other points, why didn't the York physio help ? And the crowd reaction when he was being carried off, awful.

Dale Johnson was immense, I really think he will be looked at seriously between now and end of season.

Why do managers feel they have to make these statements...

Erm, better side by a mile, yet only created one shot on target.
Dodgy keeper, who on 3 occasions ballsed up, we had a keeper who didn't make one mistake !
We ARE part time, and ARE a league lower, and I think we shaded it.

see me on my way/on way back tommorow. I shall be in a white transit van with 'Bispham Van Hire' in green on it. My clutch is buggered on my car and it was actually cheaper to get a transit for day. Got a decent deal and its actually cheaper than if i'd gone in car considering petrol too.

BEEP BEEP

Altrincham FC First Team / Goodwin comment....
« on: September 21, 2008, 01:26:01 PM »
As I was getting a pint of milk this morning I had a quick flick through one of the NLP, not sure which one but theres a small bit with a comment from GG.

In it he basically states he's had enough, can't take the club any further, is looking for investment, isn't a conference chairman and can't afford it no longer...

Intersting. I feel theres more to come. After a supporter questioned Rowley's involvement with the club yesterday and said he 'could walk away' his reaction said it all.

I stood back, watched and listened....

Altrincham FC First Team / Game ON ?
« on: September 06, 2008, 10:47:47 AM »
Is the game on for sure ? It's raining here and my front and back gardens are both flooded, not that they have the drainage system ML has  :)

For some reason I can never forget in the mid 90's travelling to Alty on the train to watch us play Runcorn in an FA Trophy tie, It had been chucking it down and I telephoned the club who said yes without a doubt.

Got to the ground to find it called off, as a young lad of 14 who had spent all my paperound money on train fares etc, i wasn't too chuffed !
