Altrincham FC First Team / Easter soccer school

Anyone know if its any good ? Seems reasonable for £48. Does Little do any coaching etc...  thinking of putting my lad in, he plays junior footy already but think he'd enjoy it.

Altrincham FC First Team / The £600,000 early 00's debt...
« on: February 09, 2010, 05:57:07 PM »
Just a simple question really.

When we were that much in debt, we repaid the amount owed and lived within our means. Therefore 'x' amount each month was set aside for the debt. When this was cleared would that not allow 'x' amount each month to be freed up to be spent elsewhere ? Was it, and has it or still is ? We haven't paid a penny in transfer fees (which i agree is right) and are told we have one of the smallest budgets in the league, rightly so too. But has the squad REALLY changed since we won promotion in 2005 ? I'm in n way suggesting we should be signing players left right and centre, just intrigued... I know obv higher rates, higher bills etc but we must have been paying a good whack each month to pay that off, OR do we have any 'loans' outstanding ???

If say, Mr Brown who has a mortgage at £500 a month is told its okay you dont have to pay anymore, wouldn't he be £500 a month better off ?

« on: February 07, 2010, 10:27:55 PM »
Forgive me if im being thick but...

Why do they always run the same half on the same side ? Im sure its not always been like that....

Edit : I know in the SAME game they don't - for equality to both teams etc..

Altrincham FC First Team / Fleetwood v Southport
« on: January 01, 2010, 05:25:50 PM »
Just been to said game, finished 4-0 to Fleetwood, Southport won the reverse on Boxing Day 5-0

Attendance was just above 2,500

Sean Clancy was left midfield and tore the right back to shreds, its ok saying its a league below, but these two are 1st and 2nd.

Gareth Seddon was a used substitute, and looked class when he came on.

Had a quick chat to Tom Cahill, who was warming up. He revealed he spoke to GH a few times in the summer and was going to join, but chose Fleetwood because its closer to home (kerching)

Southport tried to bully and foul to stop/start the game, worked until they went 1 down then had a man sent off for a challenge on a player hours after he'd played the ball. If they come up as they are its an easy 6 points, Fleetwood on the other hand are up and coming in my estimation. Albeit on one games observation.

Altrincham FC First Team / James Smith to be investigated ?
« on: October 27, 2009, 12:55:11 PM »
I hate to bang on about this again but....

http://www.chad.co.uk/stags/FA-to-probe-assault-on.5769385.jp

It seems Holdsworth has washed his hands of the incident, and said he asked the fourth official at the time who said he saw nothing. He then says his chairman has obviously got involved...

To be honest the game has been and gone and my own opinion is let it be, yes incidents happen in games but if we all sit and troll through 90 minutes of video footage after every game we'd have players out here there and everywhere. I'm not condoning what he did, but theres always two sides to every story.

Just read the main site about the Bangor player being caught playing park footy in a tournament.

I seem to remember in the 90's an Alty player being caught ? Anyone remember ? Didn't Peter Band do it too..
