Have been bought by well known Bitcoin investor Peter McCormack. https://twitter.com/PeterMcCormack/status/1471442133022355466
He's claims to have already banked sponsorship equivalent to a league one running budget. As well as that he is making pretty wild claims about the trajectory of the treasury of the club which he will hold in Bitcoin as its main reserve.
Whether you think positively or negatively regarding crypto this will be fascinating to watch fall apart/succeed over the next few years.
In other crypto news, there is a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organisation) called WAGMI United (Stands for We're all going to make it) aiming to buy a football league club. Fans United style. https://decrypt.co/88579/crypto-coming-english-football-gary-vee-nfts-coming
Bradford have been approached for sure https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/59696837
Strangely though, I actually see this as something we'll see happening more and more as crypto becomes adopted more and more. There are a lot of people who are very rich suddenly.

They aren’t rich till they sell out. It’s a ponzi scheme waiting for the fall out. Energy consumption only going to get worse as chains lengthen and sooner or later it will collapse and take this wealth with it. Nights take years, maybe even decades but it’s not a sustainable model. Just because technology enables something doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. If you’ve got that much cash and sponsors that big why buy Bedford? It’s like that American who bought Oxford city a few years back with similar promises. Nothing happened.

Because the ego is the journey.
Easy to get a few promotions via Conference South, and have people kiss your arse on the way up.

This guy has sold a lot, but he's still deeply invested.
He bought Bedford because he lives there and is from there. I'd do the same for Alty, although I've got more of an established affinity with the club than he does with Bedford.
He'll piss the tinpot leagues, like Hashtag said, and either fall apart at National League or League 2 I reckon.

Nowadays I need a bottle of that whilst reading the forum too! 😉

See Kings Lynn have now entered the phase of "I'm doubting the town really wants a successful club", this comes shortly before the owner pulls the money and signifies that they have got as high as they can go, see scarborough, rushden and diamonds, histon, shaw lane aquaforce................

Canvey island…..

Grays, Histon, Billericay etc etc

This feels a bit different. I think they'll be similar to FC United maybe even do a Salford if Bitcoin holds.
Ultimately his strategy is actually quite different. He knows the value of each level, and wants to get resources in to do it.
He's got a huge community to tap into (same. As FC, Wimbledon via FM and Salford via Co92)

Colne Dynamoes (shudders at a certain memory)
-
Local (well, to me!) Vauxhall Motors

The new project got off to a flying start on Saturday as Bedford lost 6-1 to Sileby Rangers!
Another strange this about is that Bedford are not even the leading team in Bedford; that's Bedford Town who play next door.
-
Even stranger, he even said he was looking at creating a third team before he bought the smaller team.
Only time will tell on how it goes with both Bedford and Bitcoin. The money rolling about at the moment though could set them up for a while with the silly sponsorships he's claiming.
