OK, after a rummage through the dusty archives, here goes with the first meeting between Grantham and Alty in 1980....

The Grantham goal came as the result of a careless back-pass by Stan Allan.

JR equalised after 33 minutes with a header from a Davison cross. 

Deep into injury time, only a superb last-ditch tackle by John Owens prevented Grantham's Dennis Jenas from scoring a winning goal.

This game was one week after the FA Cup Third Round 1-1 draw against Orient at Moss Lane.
