It was the 3rd meeting of the sides of the season, not the first, so unsurprising that followings on both sides were down a little. A cold midweek night in feb coupled with hassle about getting tickets may not have helped either but I thought we might have taken more. If I'm honest with you, after the 2 home wins the bragging rights are already hours so last night didn't have the usual edge for me. Still growing back into the rivalry.
Couple of thoughts after my first visit for 17 years that seated stand down the side where everybody used to stand has done nothing for the atmosphere, seems they've spread out everywhere. Didn't hear a great deal of singing.
If they defend like that when facing uphill I'm amazed their home form is so good. If we sneaked into 5th place I'd back us every day of the week to do them over 2 legs now. A few Macc players didn't fancy it 2nd half and went missing bar Danny Whittaker who was the games outstanding player.
Not withstanding the foul on Havern that lead to their goal we gave ourselves too much to do in a tight game so although we did more than enough to deserve at least a draw (and I'm yet to find anyone on either side who disagrees with that) we can't moan too much as it was our own fault.
