That Senior challenge is worse than I thought.  Its a terrible tackle never mind where it was!

Just watched the video, it was even worse than it seemed from the end we were in, virtually an assualt! Would you believe a couple of their fans on their guestbook suggested Senior should have been booked for diving! Small minded blinkered idiots and I know who one of them is, He's a Leeds fan, I suppose its economical in scarves.

He was at the immediate moment, Wayno, but two of theirs ran behind during the moment. We discussed this at length on the night, and basically the rule states about the player being the last man. My and others took the view that regardless it was a straight red, but with regard to the last man rule, a keeper is a special case, as another defender racing back does not have the same options, re hands etc.

I don't think it was a red in regards to a professional foul, they did have two defenders covering but it was a complete red for the tackle, in fact for the sheer intent alone.

100 out of 100 outfield players would have been dismissed for that challenge, the 'goalscoring opportunity' bollocks muddled the dickhead refs mind basically.

Farce.

There is no 'last man rule'.

A player, substitute or substituted player is sent off if he commits any of the following seven offences:
• serious foul play
• violent conduct
• spitting at an opponent or any other person
• denying the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-scoring opportunity
by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a goalkeeper within
his own penalty area)
• denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity to an opponent moving
towards the player’s goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a
penalty kick

• using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures
• receiving a second caution in the same match

It's a shame the referee saw it at all. We could have sent the edited version to the FA and got their goalkeeper a three match ban.

forget getting the keeper a three match ban!  (we are not mansfield after all)

We should send in the footage and complain about the bloody ref - he had an appaling game.

Clearly a 'home' decision.

Wow. It was an even clearer red card than it looked on the night. The only thing that can have been in the ref's mind is that Senior was heading towards the corner flag but he still would have had a clear shot at any empty net and the keeper's challenge was totally cynical (wish we'd given him even more stick in the bar now). It's exactly the sort of incident that the 'professional foul' rule was brought in for. The big decision of the night and he got it wrong.

Oh and incidentally, Senior looks onside to me. It's at least very close, and not 'the worst offside decision I've ever seen, five yeards off' as Terry Brown claims.
